Rick;
We do not use berkshires for a couple of reasons.
1] our local semen outfit doesn't have any that are PRRS naive [which we still are]
2] We use natural breeding to reduce risk of introducing disease.
3] Berkshires prolly wouldn't grade as well in a commmercial herd.
So far we still use a Y X L, with some duroc. We do have a small niche market for sucklings, but it is quite challenging.
