Doubtful . There might be some fighting in the streets, but there is no organized resistance. My only fear is when cornered the President will call for Martial Law.

I hate to meddle in your current problems

But:

You do need to know the 1st article mentioned the civil war was about slavery. This has been a misconception your journalists should know. The civil war was NOT about slavery. It was about the south wanting to break away [ succeed if I spelled it correctly] Abe slipped the emancipation of slavery in after the war was essentially won. He did not know if he had the power to declare such but did so and nobody argued the point

I know you did not write the article

Everybody thinks civil war has to repeat the last civil war. This is not true. When a country is divided as you people are, actions will take many possible ways and means. Look to other countries and how they resist power, if you want a measure of definition, but everybody is different.

I agree, when you see the militia in the streets due to civil unrest, that might be considered a civil war. All depends on what you think. You could argue the taking away of individual freedoms is the 1st step toward civil war, if the people resist their loss of individual freedoms in any large amount of the population. Any kind of resistance if it happens in large enough numbers could be considered a civil war

It all depends on how you want to define civil war

People get killed in the streets every day, yet that is not considered civil war. Resistance to power could be considered civil war.

The country is completely divided, courtesy of Obama.  It will not be like the first civil war.  Hopefully, it will be deep state entities fighting each other.  The CIA against the FBI.  I am not sure what launches it, maybe the  initiation of military tribunals.  Personally think we need the .  Treason needs to be delt with, not glossed over. Start making examples of people who violate the Constitution.

To those who do not wish to believe this can be traced back to Obama, I have one thought.

Donald Trump would never have been elected if it wasn't for Barack Obama.  Just as Carter was a reaction to Nixon, and Reagan was a reaction to Carter, Trump was a reaction to Obama.

"Trump was a reaction to Obama."

Trump was a reaction to decades of politics as usual, and indifference to the needs of the electorate.

Oh,  I think indifference to the needs of the electorate is not the problem.  Ignorance is.  We have some people who really think the government can just do a swell job of taking care of everyone when in reality, they cause a lot more problems than they solve.

Of COURSE the civil war was about slavery.  If there had been no slavery anywhere, would the south have succeeded?  Of course not.

Carl, you wrote: "...There might be some fighting in the streets, but there is no organized resistance......"

It seems to me, Soros is putting a lot of effort (and $$$) into organizing the "resistance". I still remember the bus-convoys that shuffled protesters from state to state in 2016..

Just this weekend, the Antifa hooligans held a well organized protest in Portland. Sooner or later, blood will be spilled, when these guys show up. it's not a matter of "if", but of "when"

joj, thank you for giving us more insight into the Antifa group.....

let's see.....

wearing black clothing..... a direct copy of Mussolini's "fasci combatementi" (from which the term "fascist" is derived).    Check!

Hitler's strong-arm groups were wearing brown uniforms... no "check" here. However, Antifa follows the same patterns of physical resistance and oppression as used by Hitler's "fascist"  Brown Shirts and Mussolini's  Black Shirts .... Check!

they are from the far left........Hitler was an extreme socialist. He hated rich guys, like Pres Trump, with a passion. The term "Nazi" stands for Nationalist, Socialist German Workers' Party......the "Left".....Check!

Woman can join Antifa.....as far as I know, only men were allowed in Hitler's and Mussolini's strong-arm groups.,,, no Check on this one.

in conclusion, I am starting to wonder... is Antifa the new, far-left Anerican Nazi party?

So Carl,  are you comparing an overreaching nanny state, where at best 20% of the money reaches the alleged benefactors  while regulations choke off business to Trumps tax cuts, deregulation and renegotiation of trade deals?
