"MSNBC’s viewership last week propelled the network to its first No. 1 cable news network "sales day" rating in 18 years, NBCUniversal announced.

"The network averaged 1.56 million total viewers from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. in the Dec. 17-21 business week — ahead of Fox News’ 1.54 million and CNN’s 975,000.

"The cable network ...  also finished ahead of its two main competitors in prime time for the fourth consecutive week."

It's too early to tell, but if this becomes a trend, it could be an indication of erosion in Trump's base.

Yeah, I know, wishful thinking on my part.

SS, I occasionally watch Fox to compare the coverage. If asked by a survey, I'd say MSNBC. Would you ?

Ever notice how.. the better the news is for the left, the worse things end up for the country?

Venezuelan libs cheered when big oil was punished and the oil was turned over to the people as they moved further to the leftist paradigm of socialism.  Now a once prosperous citizenry fights for food in the streets.

Leftists cheered the ascension of Lenin following the revolution prior to 10's of millions dying in gulags and outright purges.

There are dozens, perhaps hundreds of historic examples , but leftists march on insisting they'll get it right this time.

Tim, the events you mentioned were and are by Communists, not Leftists ( as previously defined ).  It may take a while, but the people can only take so much.

Communists are extreme leftists,  but leftists just the same.

How about all the great news coming out of places like Sweden in the wake of the leftist victories there?

Hi Berky,

I too purposefully watch Fox to try and get a more complete picture of how our current political climate is interpreted.

I don’t know if this means good news for the left or not but a closer correlation might be that less viewers are buying the Fox News spin. Concurrently more viewers are finding the MSNBC coverage more reliable. Particularly around issues of the POTUS and the characterization of investigation into his misdeeds.

MSNBC is also more likely to cast the Left control of the House checks/balances meaningfully. Fox continues to downplay the significance of this. The constant misreportings from defending the vacillating sagas coming out of the Whitehouse has left many Fox programs credibility sorely lacking.

Id expect more of this as the venue moves from the courts of public opinion to the courts of law.

Just imagine (for example) the divergent coverage if 45 was convicted of felonies, the House voted to impeach and the Senate did not. I’m thinking this is a realistic scenario.

Same event would have polar opposite commentary.

We are having multiple events almost that great a magnitude  every month with this administration. The collective weight is pretty startling imo.

This is an excellent time to watch both media slants.

Where’s my popcorn?
