2020 Democrats Embrace Race-Conscious Policies, Including Reparations

Gee, what a coincidence, some democrats suddenly want reparations for blacks and they just happen to be running for president.

They couldn't possibly be thinking about what will generate the most votes for them, after all their are only 37 million blacks living in this country(I know they mostly vote dem but alot of them stayed home in 2016)

Gee, is there a chance that I might get reparations from Egypt?

I guess not, since most people probably think that reparations should only go to the injured party.

I would think that we might have numerous opinions on this topic.

In what world does it make sense to take money from people who never owned slaves and give it to people who were never slaves in an effort to "fix" slavery.  This world is off the rails.

"I would think that we might have numerous opinions on this topic.?"

I doubt that, Mike. It's an ill conceived, "wacked out" idea.

"It's an ill conceived, "wacked out" idea."

Glad to read you on this carl.

However, from the link above:

"Last week, on the popular radio show “The Breakfast Club,” Senator Kamala Harris of California agreed with a host’s suggestion that government reparations for black Americans were necessary to address the legacies of slavery and discrimination. Ms. Harris later affirmed that support in a statement to The New York Times.

"Ms. Warren also said she supported reparations for black Americans impacted by slavery — a policy that experts say could cost several trillion dollars, and one that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and many top Democrats have not supported."

"Another sign of the party’s shift on race: Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the New York Democrat whose bold policy ideas and devoted national following have upended Capitol Hill, also voiced her support for reparations earlier this month."

We know Elizabeth Warren's actions...........pretend to be a minority and use it for 30 years in her career. Now, she is going to try to use race again in her platform but this time, to get votes.

Speaking of whacked out ideas, this one might be the most whacked out in the history of our country:

Green New Deal

https://www.gp.org/green_new_deal

"Initiate a WWII-scale national mobilization to halt climate change, the greatest threat to humanity in our history"

As shown with dozens of data sources here, our planet it greening up and experiencing the best weather/climate and CO2 levels in the last 1,000 years.

The climate crisis only exists on computer simulations of the atmosphere, using mathematical equations to represent a busted theory(too warm) but NOT in the real world.

We were given 12 years to act in 2007 by Al Gore and he got the Nobel Peace Prize for it.

He was dead wrong, as polar bears have greatly increased and the planet has greened up...........as expected from objective scientists using authentic science and real world observations.

Now, we are told that we must act again in the next 12 years.

This was 12 years ago:

2007 Nobel Peace Prize

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Nobel_Peace_Prize

The 2007 Nobel Peace Prize was shared, in two equal parts, between the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Al Gore "for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change".

This is what happened since then:

Carbon Dioxide Fertilization Greening Earth, Study Finds

https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2016/carbon-dioxide-fertilization-greening-earth

As Polar Bear Numbers Increase, GWPF Calls For Re-assessment Of Endangered Species Status

https://www.thegwpf.org/as-polar-bear-numbers-increase-gwpf-calls-for-re-assessment-of-endangered-species-status/

"Since 2005, however, the estimated global polar bear population has risen by more than 30% to about 30,000 bears, far and away the highest estimate in more than 50 years."

Here is the latest now from the IPCC, which got the Nobel Peace prize with Gore in 2007:

Report: we have just 12 years to limit devastating global warming

https://www.vox.com/2018/10/8/17948832/climate-change-global-warming-un-ipcc-report

We have just 12 years to make massive and unprecedented changes to global energy infrastructure to limit global warming to moderate levels, the United Nation’s climate science body(IPCC) said in a monumental new report released Sunday.

metmike: I predict that, as long as the modest global temperature increase continues and the massively beneficial CO2 increase continues, that the planet will continue to get greener........very high confidence.  How would this NOT happen is my question?

Keep in mind that I've been an  environmentalist for 37 years!
