Double the fun today! Does this double the chances that somebody other than carl and metmike will pick one?

Several earthquakes and I get the natural disasters. I can see one that carl might pick for the 24th.

2-23-1945 – World War II: During the Battle of Iwo Jima, a group of United States Marines and a U.S. Navy hospital corpsman reach the top of Mount Suribachi on the island and are photographed raising the American flag.

An iconic picture which still evokes pride and patriotic feelings when viewed.

2-24-1980 – The United States Olympic hockey team completes its Miracle on Ice by defeating Finland 4–2 to win the gold medal.

Somewhat anti-climatic, but a fitting end to The Miracle on Ice.
