polypeptide chain,

Helpful to use it in a sentence as an example........this sentence is starting to sound familiar (-:

The large oligosaccharide is transferred en bloc to the fledgling polypeptide chain, which is transported across or inserted into the rough endoplasmic reticulum membrane.

We'll get on with some more commonly used words after Carl stops giving us these more challenging ones............that I enjoy tremendously!

Proteins consist of one or more polypeptide chains. Each polypeptide chain consists of smaller sub-units or amino acids that are linked together. Amino acids serve as the building blocks of polypeptides, and polypeptides serve as the building blocks of proteins. ... A polypeptide chain can serve as a protein on its own.
