 Quinnipiac poll: https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2622

The Quinnipiac ("Q") poll is considered highly respected and center biased:

  https://www.allsides.com/news-source/quinnipiac-university

When Obama was pres., it had him as the “worst president since WWII”.  It was one of the few polls that had Trump ahead of Hillary in the summer of 2016 and they were even accused of being biased toward Trump via rigging:

 https://www.politicususa.com/2016/07/13/quinnipiac-universitys-poll.html

That being said, this brand new Q poll is not looking good for Trump despite the good economy and is looking better for Biden:

"But American voters give President Donald Trump a negative 38 - 57 percent approval rating, compared to a negative 41 - 55 percent approval in a May 2 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University National Poll."

"'The nation's economy is pretty darn good and President Donald Trump's approvalnumbers are pretty darn awful,' said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac UniversityPoll.  'So what to make of the good news, bad news mashup and how to correct it?'

'For the moment, the disparity leaves the president on shaky re-election ground.'

President Trump begins his reelection campaign in a deep hole as 54 percent of American'voters say they "definitely" will not vote for him" vs only 31% saying they'll "definitely" vote for Trump.

"With a 49 - 39 percent favorability rating, former Vice President Joseph Biden is the only presidential contender, Democrat or Republican, with a clear positive score."

------------------------------------------

In summary, the odds are currently favoring Biden over Trump by a good margin per this poll. Not good news for Trump.

Biden will be sold as the savior of the world..............wait, he's already pegged himself as being that:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6962623/World-leaders-begged-run-claims-Joe-Biden.html

"World leaders begged me to run, claims Joe Biden: Former vice-president says his 2020 presidential bid was inspired by calls from politicians across the globe who want him to ‘save the world’"

I thought this was funny:

"Levin: ‘Exactly which world leaders were lobbying Joe Biden to run for president of our United States?’"

https://www.conservativereview.com/news/levin-exactly-world-leaders-lobbying-joe-biden-run-president-united-states/

"Levin said that his point is that the Left’s treatment of Donald Trump has “opened Pandora’s box” for partisan investigations and impeachment attempts. As a result, those new norms could just as easily be turned against Biden for something as little as an offhand comment meant to impress donors."

Joe also tells us how he emptied his pockets for the homeless woman:

WATCH: Humble Joe Biden Tells Crowd He Helped A Homeless Woman, But Insists “It’s Not About Me”

https://www.redstate.com/sister-toldjah/2019/03/18/watch-biden-tells-crowd-helped-homeless-woman-insists-not/

As somebody that volunteers a tremendous amount of time to local organizations(scholastic chess, Rescue Mission, youth sports, Boy Scouts......etc)  my opinion of Joe jumped up a notch but then, being the skeptic of politicians, who say things to manipulate us for a living.........., I did some fact checking on his background to see if his actions backed up his words over the last couple of decades. ........ouch!

https://www.aei.org/publication/bidens-are-becoming-more-charitable-over-time-they-used-to-give-less-to-charity-than-americans-making-less-than-5000/

Well, at least as VP Biden he got much more charitable(knowing his tax returns would be scrutinized?) after being  the least charitable politician in history as Senator Biden during his last decade.

This is one of the things that I liked about President Obama. He was very charitable.......after becoming president.

Obama’s gifts to charity: Just 1 percent?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/obamas-gifts-to-charity-just-1-percent/2012/02/14/gIQAXuMDER_blog.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.86f0309f9548

"But that was 10 years ago. And whatever one may think of Obama’s motivation to give to charity now that his tax returns are public, the fact remains that he gives a substantial chunk of his income to charity."

I strongly dislike Trump and have never had any intention of voting for him in either election. This strong dislike has nothing to do with the negative media coverage and has all to do with my eyes and ears. I don't care if Biden has never given a penny to charity, is touchy feely, said something wrong about China, and plagiarized decades ago. To me, the sum of all of that pales in comparison to the Trump flaws. I mean it isn't even in the same galaxy imo. I'm sure that many independents feel similarly and this likely had a lot to do with Trump's negative results in this poll.

to summarize I guess wx, you would rather have a President who you think {not know} is a great guy and crashes the country, than a perceived thug who does  good job, keeps his campaign promises, and out of silly mideast wars.

mc,

1. Why would Biden have a greater chance of 'crashing" the country than Trump?

2. On what do you base Trump doing a good job? Polls don't agree at all.

3. In his campaign, he complained about Obama playing golf too much and Trump has played way more. He's such a hypocrite and liar.

4. Trump's first term is far from over. He could still get us in a Mideast war including with Iran. And why would Biden have a higher chance of doing so?

5. Look at the Q poll. It isn't just me.

in a word SOCIALISM.....the wacked out left leaning members of the party including 'Bernie who is not even a dem he is so far left is the explanation. Biden will cave after pretending for 2 years, he will not stand up to them. Just look at his back tracking on immigration,,,backtracking? how about a 180 degree turn around about face?

I am with  Larry  as an independent  who greatly dislikes Trump and his personality flaws and  divisiveness and also somebody that has devoted his life to volunteering and honesty/truth.

This is why, despite Trump having the much better agenda in every realm, I decided to give Biden an honest look earlier this year. I've always liked Biden but didn't know much about him. I also still like alot of things about Obama and voted for him in 2008(but would never vote for him again after witnessing some bad things about him-but as a person, I still like him).

I was also a democrat for 25 years and am now an independent, even though the democratic party is nothing at all like the one that I connected to a few decades ago and the only way that I will consider voting for somebody from that party for president is if they would show "Jimmy Carter" type honesty and integrity(and it would still be tough).

Locally, I still vote for democrats including our sheriff and my friend Dave Wedding.

In the 1990's, I also believed strongly in the catastrophic climate change projections on all the global climate models. Seriously, I did. But this was before the internet and I'm an atmospheric scientist/operational meteorologist, so I didn't need to just keep believing stuff that others said.  I am an authority and have all the data and spent thousands of hours the past 2 decades doing research and piling up more data than anybody that I know of, while observing and analyzing the global atmosphere all day long, every single day.

So I let the facts change my mind as all good scientists do. On climate change............on who to vote for.

So that's just the background leading up to when Biden bragged about helping the homeless person for me. Knowing nothing about Biden, except that he has always seemed like a sincerely nice person(and I still believe that) and very likeable, I imagined him as the anti-Trump with regards to his personality.

Trumps huge flaw for me(and Larry too) is Biden's strong point.  I'm pretty sold on Trump's agenda but am objective enough to consider Biden if his positive traits, in a realm that matters to me(integrity/honesty/helping other people/charity) were so outstanding. that I had to consider him.

But I never make decisions like this based on emotions and am always skeptical of what people, especially politicians or government or MSM/FOX tell me because they are trying to get me to believe something.

Honestly, I was sort of excited when Biden bragged about how he helped the homeless. Great message and maybe this was a democrat of the old days, when I connected to that party.  The first source that I found, that showed he was the least charitable of anybody for a decade made me feel naive and like an idiot for falling for his story. However, once his tax records were being made public, he boosted his contributions so they are better.

I believe............and could be wrong, that Biden made this statement to try to make people think that he is somebody his charitable contributions in the past show he is not(to try to manufacture this altruistic image of himself for us....and if it was true-he has me seriously liking him alot)

I know this means zilch to most people and Larry but if the only way I would vote for Biden and his awful policies and agenda is if he really does have a long track record of honesty and actions which speak louder than current words with regards to what he did in the past(before he became VP and was under the spot light) but he did the 100% opposite... its not like he just gave less to charity than most-he gave the least of anybody in his income bracket).

If Trump gave 0 to charity and was Mr. Scrooge for 40 years it would not matter to me. He already gets the lowest rating that I can give out for that and his personality. Trump gets all his points from me from his magnificent agenda.

Biden gets near 0 from me for his agenda. So he has to generate all of his points to offset this with spectacular numbers regarding his personality, integrity, honestly and charitable ACTIONS. Now that I know more about Biden, I trust him less because I think he intentionally misled me on his generosity to make him look great.

After  that, when he told us that world leaders had contacted him, asking him to run for president to save the world, I am further questioning his humility and honestly. Since then, he is obviously saying things that are the complete opposite of things that Trump is for(China or the economy for instance-where I know that he knows better-but is saying entirely to appeal to the anti Trumpers)......................but those things about Trumps policies that he's bashing are all the same things that I like about Trump the horrible person.

So how can I be for Biden, even though I still think he's a really likeable guy and everybody is less divisive than Trump?

I feel like I gave him an honest, objective look using facts and observations.
