Took a 200 mile drive to return some sweet corn seed today

My WAG on corn and bean planting on the acres I saw

!st off the area arounf our farm seems to be as good as any. Ours and neighbours fields

We range from 4" to rows filled in in this area

On our trip I would estimate Corn:

5 % planted in May

10 % planted in June

5 % PP

Soybeans

0 % planted in May

85 % planted in June with planting still in progress

15 % PP

Perhaps that explains why our basis is currently $2.65 over Deec. 2019 for Sept 2019 delivery

Golly what will our price be come 2020 delivery

There simply is no 2019 corn to speak of, planted, in Ontario

If there is any more corn it has not emerged

I would think less than 500 acres had rows even close to filled in, on the route we took

Thanks Wayne!

Nice to get a report from an area not covered by the USDA or anybody else here.
