Trump hates the liberal/progressive/socialist/communist view of where the country should be headed.  And of course, the liberal/progressive/socialist/communists hate that he has higher approval ratings by the day.  What a threat to the mission COMRADE!!.

So, they call wanting secure borders "Xenophobia"

They call the repeal of onerous and expensive regulations "Dangerous".

They call reducing taxes "Irresponsible".

And when he disagrees with anti-Semitic rhetoric and insults directed towards the US,  they call him "Racist".

The left relies on hyperbole and labels because they know that not enough voters will side with them in an honest debate, at least not yet.

Tim, is this  the "liberal/progressive/socialist/communist" you wrote about?

Arthur C. Brooks (born May 21, 1964) is an American social scientist, musician, and contributing opinion writer for The Washington Post[1] He was the president of the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank, for a decade. As of July 2019, he joined the faculty of the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School.[2] Brooks has researched the junctions between culture, economics, and politics. He is the author of 11 books, including two New York Times best sellers: The Road to Freedom: How to Win the Fight for Free Enterprise (2012) and The Conservative Heart: How to Build a Fairer, Happier, and More Prosperous America (Broadside Books, 2015).[3] He is a self-described independent.

I was writing about liberal/progressive/socialist/communists in general,  but Brooks seems quite comfortable with parroting their talking points.  I wonder what sort of conservative qualifies as an opinion writer for the New York Times these days.
