House centipedes are known for killing pests in your house that are completely unwelcome. They kill roaches, moths, flies, silverfish and termites. Centipedes use the two legs right near their head, which has been modified to carry venom, and their other legs to scoop up the bug. This is called a “lassoing” technique where centipedes jump on their prey and wrap them up with the rest of their legs.
Not only are house centipedes killing the bugs you really don’t want in your house, they also don’t create any type of nests or webs as well. They are considered active hunters and are constantly looking for their next prey. Centipedes aren’t eating your wood and they aren’t carrying a fatal disease.
Bites of smaller variants of centipedes produce nothing more than a painful, localized reaction, not unlike a bee sting. Larger species, however, administer more venom through a bite and can produce more extreme pain. While centipede bites can be extremely painful, they are not generally fatal to humans.
There are many youtube videos showing larger centipedes attacking mice and bats.
That doesn’t sound so good!
Best, educational and entertaining video about centipedes on the internet!

Mrs. Centipede doesn't do so well today )-:
No, what you presented may be why YOU should never kill a house centipede, but I'm different.
Funny JP!
I suspected that would be controversial and based on somebody else's view (from the first link) .....not representing my personal opinion.
After reading and thinking about it more, I have to agree with YOU on these critters, especially since my better half's opinion is so one sided on it.
However, snakes, bats and non venemous spiders are still my friends, though I can't get my wife convinced of that (-:
