Jack Whitaker, one of the originals. Smooth as silk. He and Chris Shenkal, mel allen. vin scully, keith Jackson and a few others could call a game and try to not be part of the story. just let it come naturally and at times even beautifully.

 I agree with your list. I'd also add Ray Scott, Pat Summerall, and Dick Enberg amongst others. I think Ray Scott was highly underrated. I was just a kid then but recalling thinking he was awesome.

Here he was, 34 years ago (the year that Deb and I were married) announcing  golf, one of your favorite sports, I believe Larry.

He would have been 61 years old then.

 Thanks, Mike. Indeed, golf is a favorite of mine to watch and Jack was great with that sport just as we was for football and others.
