On Friday, all morning corn was in the red

Immediately after the report at noon corn was in the red. I was a bit down in the mouth

However, at the close corn was green. Big surprise when I checked after the market closed

In fact our new crop corn cash bid was the highest ever since a bid was offered. Old crop was equal to the highest cash bid

Soybeans did not seem to be especially price bullish

Why did corn end the day in the green??? after all the red

Was this just more price range

It's just january Wayne and months before we start corn planting.........but you can bet that the market will be super sensitive regarding wet soils and heavy rain events if we get to late March and it hasn't dried out more than current conditions.

Here are the latest U.S. soil moisture anomalies from NOAA. Still wet across much of the #Corn Belt, esp. in the Upper Midwest/N Plains. Hard to believe that #plant20 will begin in 3 months, give or take. #agwx
