Hey Mike, this one is up your alley.
So I live in California, more specifically in the Sacramento area.
Last year was an incredible season for rain as we had rain right up until the end of May. I think we even set some records for monthly rainfall and snowpack.
This year so far isn't looking quite so good and I can already see the headlines from the alarmist media saying "California headed into another permanent drought!" Because the last drought we just ended last year was also being called permanent and man-made/caused.
So! In your professional opinion, what's the outlook for us this year?
For those of you who read the Farmer's Almanac, that forecast predicts some rain in spring but nothing remarkable.
So anything long-term is currently pointing to a rather dry year for us out here. I just want to be mentally prepared for when the alarmist articles start circulating about how global warming and climate change is headed back to California after a 2 year hiatus.

Welcome back madmechanic!
It doesn't look very favorable for rain the next 2 weeks, I'm sorry to say and by the time we get into March, seasonally the chance for substantial rains starts dropping pretty fast.
I can't even guess on what the March weather will be like.
The Pacific Northwest has been getting bombed with tons and tons of rain this month but sadly, the storm track has not been able to shift farther south.
Blaming the wild fires and drought on man made climate change in N.California is very anti science.
1. Global drought has not increased and the planet is greening up.

2. Climate models projecting the future, which is what is being used to sell the fake climate crisis(worse droughts and wildfires), show the OPPOSITE of what Bernie claims. This is because of the warmer Pacific Ocean(more El Nino's and increased precipitation that it will cause in N.California. Warmer air also holds more moisture, which is why global precipitation has gone UP not down.

Thanks Mike, I know that weather can be highly variable year to year and just as California is wishing for rain, places like Colorado are getting dumped on.
Hopefully we can snag some rain in the coming weeks but its looking like this will be another dry year out here with many wildfires.
And you are right, the issue with wildfires lies with the politicians and policy makers. California has always been a state with wildfires, its not like its a new thing for the state landscape, the difference is the amount of fuel load that has been allowed to accumulate and the amount of people that insist on living in wildfire areas.
