Sounds like the media hasn't changed much except perhaps in degree.

Here's one with a similar flare. Who said:

  "One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors."

This most likely is a paraphrase,but can you guess which politician/statesman said this with regard to their present day state of politics?
