Thanks Gunter!

We really need to find out more because this was the go to world's authority that had the opportunity to stop this from becoming a global pandemic and what they did was give advice to the entire world  that CAUSED it to become a pandemic.

Their unjustifiable, profound blunders were greatly tied to misinformation coming from China but its their job to verify the reliability of such information.

This wasn't just China sending out bs political propaganda as usual............which, in itself,  would have been suspect by everybody who has observed China for decades. This was bs about the most dangerous, and contagious virus in our life time that was clearly telling anybody with a shred of authentic data at the end of December, that is was capable of causing this current catastrophic global pandemic.

How China Corrupted the World Health Organization's Response to COVID-19

the WHO's response to the coronavirus destroyed much of its credibility and damaged the field of public health.

https://reason.com/video/how-china-corrupted-the-world-health-organizations-response-to-covid-19/

"As China has shown, this does not need to be a pandemic if we take action," WHO Executive Director Michael Ryan said on February 28.

As the virus continued spreading across Europe and reached America, the WHO recommended "no interference with international travel."

metmike: They were against President Trump's travel ban.

"One country that ignored this advice was Taiwan, which also warned the WHO that it suspected that the virus was spreading through human-to-human transmission, yet was ignored. Taiwan, which has one of the lowest rates of known COVID-19 infections per capita, was prevented from joining the WHO as a member country in 2015 by China, which refuses to acknowledge Taiwan's independence.

In late March, World Health Organization epidemiologist Bruce Aylward declined to answer a Hong Kong reporter's question about Taiwan—or even acknowledge its existence.

As Taiwan was distributing face masks to its citizens, the WHO was advising the rest of the world that they were unnecessary—and initially, the Centers for Disease Control and U.S. Surgeon General followed its lead."

metmike: There advice, instead of helping, is exactly what CAUSED the pandemic.

It would be like an overweight person with heart disease, going to their doctor for advise and being told to gain 100 lbs by cutting out fruits and vegetables in their diet and just eating junk food. Or an alcoholic with advanced liver disease being told by an addiction specialist doctor that they need to drink a liter of vodka every single day.

The WHO(which stands for World Health Organization)  prescribed actions for the world that CAUSED the epidemic. This is indisputable.

The WHO Shouldn’t Be a Plaything for Great Powers

Trump’s defunding ploy will only make the organization’s problems worse.

https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/04/why-world-health-organization-failed/610063/

"Donald Trump has declared that he would like the United States to stop funding the World Health Organization. It’s unclear if he has the authority to change policy in this way, but he’s trying. He wants to further break the WHO in ways it’s already broken.

Trump’s ploy to defund the WHO is a transparent effort to distract from his administration’s failure to prepare for the COVID-19 pandemic. It would be disastrous too. Many nations, especially poor ones, currently depend on the WHO for medical help and supplies. But it is also true that in the run-up to this pandemic, the WHO failed the world in many ways. However, President Trump’s move is precisely the kind of political bullying that contributed to the WHO’s missteps.

The WHO failed because it is not designed to be independent. Instead, it’s subject to the whims of the nations that fund it and choose its leader. In July 2017, China moved aggressively to elect its current leadership. Instead of fixing any of the problems with the way the WHO operates, Trump seems to merely want the United States to be the bigger bully."

metmike: More being blinded by Trump Derangement Syndrome. President Trump is not insisting that the WHO be a puppet of the US or do what HE wants. Just the opposite. He wants them TO DO THEIR JOBS as the worlds premier health authority INDEPENDENT of propaganda coming from unreliable sources, like China. Verify information from all countries, including that which comes from the United States.  They just caused the worst pandemic in a century by NOT DOING THEIR JOBS. Is the solution to reward them with more money or sympathize with their position? To overlook it and make some adjustments?

Is he being a bully?

I suppose that using his power to hold incompetent entities accountable in this manner is being a bully. What if he knew this would happen and bullied them like this 6 months ago?

Yeah, hundreds of thousands of lives would have been saved.

Is there another option to hold the WHO accountable that accomplishes this? Yes, but not nearly as effective. Just think about how the world was mostly accepting the WHO's explanation for how things went down and now, look at all the attention its getting.....including exposing the horrendous mistakes made by the WHO.

The mistakes were so blatant and unjustifiable and costly that the people in charge MUST GO. They have done many, many good things in the past for world health but this just exposed their blatant incompetence.

Saving lives in the past does not get you off the hook for causing a global pandemic.

If I murder a family, get busted then charged with the crime and go to court, showing the judge that I saved a bunch of lives earlier in my life............ The judge  is not going to throw out the case or just give me probation. The WHO caused hundreds of thousands of real people to die. The ones in charge that caused this must go because of their mindset. They must be replaced by others with the right mindset.

Many lives can continue to be saved by the WHO without it resulting in other lives being lost.

Maybe they learned their lesson here and it will not happen again?

Yeah, right and if I murder a family, then tell the judge that I learned my lesson, he should let me go so that I can go save more lives.

1. There should be justice and accountability in a fair minded world. The hundreds of thousands that die and their families deserve justice resulting from actions against the WHO(who's job was to protect them).

2. This exposes a massive flaw in how the people running the WHO operate. The problem is NOT the mission of the WHO, which is a wonderful organization. Nobody denies this.  The problem is  the current leaders/people running the WHO and their counter productive agenda that got in the way. People influenced this much with the wrong agenda cannot just be scolded and told to stop thinking in a way that has defined their past actions. Since they are part of the UN, it's possible that whoever we get to replace these horrible leaders will have a similar mindset but they need to go ASAP.

Despite the crystal clear facts above about the WHO and China, one side wants to keep blaming Trump for it:

Trump ignored US intelligence warnings in Jan/Feb of coronavirus

This is ad is insane:

'Trump rolled over for the Chinese': Biden ad ridicules Trump response on China handling of coronavirus

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/trump-rolled-over-for-the-chinese-biden-ad-ridicules-trump-response-on-china-handling-of-coronavirus

It states this:

"Joe Biden warned the nation in January"

Fact:

"however, it neglects to acknowledge that Biden initially called the ban (by Trump on China travelers) xenophobic, which his campaign has refuted."

Biden flips on China travel ban

 Updated:                        April 8, 2020, 10:25 a.m.

          https://www.cerescourier.com/opinion/editorial/biden-flips-china-travel-ban/

"Former Vice President Joe Biden now says he supports travel bans to contain the Chinese coronavirus after all – after he previously called the China travel ban issued by President Donald Trump in late January “xenophobia.”

Deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield told CNN on April 3 that Biden “supports travel bans that are guided by medical experts, advocated by public health officials and backed by a full strategy,” adding, “Science supported this ban, therefore he did too.”

Was that before or after looking at a poll that said Trump would do a better job dealing with this crisis than Biden? Asking for the potentially hundreds of thousands of American lives President Trump saved by acting decisively in the early days of this pandemic at a time Biden was hysterically complaining about “reactionary” travel restrictions.

And why wasn’t Biden the first one explaining his new position on this issue? Why tell us now? And why pretend he was in favor of it all along when he never supported it at the time? Why not just admit he was wrong?

Biden not only didn’t support the ban, he explicitly opposed it, repeatedly saying it was unscientific, even though it turns out it ultimately was backed up by the science. Which, you don’t need a medical degree to understand. It’s just common sense. Travel restrictions are just another form of social distancing from those traveling from the hotspot at the time, which was China, to prevent the American people from coming into contact with others who had been exposed to the virus, just as not going to work if you’re sick might."
