is this ratio going to infinity?   oil at zero would do it. 

currently with oil at 4 bucks, and gold at 1700,  we are over 400 to one.  this is far more extreme than even the great depression of the 1930's .  (around 100-to-1). 

a year ago, if you told me this ratio was going to 400 to 1, i would have thought you were a lunatic.
