UAH Global Temperature Update for May 2020: +0.54 deg. C

http://www.drroyspencer.com/wp-content/uploads/UAH_LT_1979_thru_May_2020_v6.jpgThe linear warming trend since January, 1979 is +0.14 C/decade (+0.12 C/decade over the global-averaged oceans, and +0.18 C/decade over global-averaged land).

With a potential La Nina coming up, we could see a slight, temporary drop in global temperatures ahead.

El Nino's features warmer temps in the Tropical Pacific. La Nina's features cooler temps in the Tropical Pacific. The oceans have 1,000 times the heat capacity of the atmosphere, and the Pacific Ocean has around 2/3rds of that.

When heat burps out of the Pacific with an El Nino it warms the atmosphere. The opposite happens with a La Nina.
