This is very interesting.

They think that its an immune system OVER reaction in some cases that causes the biggest problem. This would also be another  possible explanation for why steroids worked in treating COVID. 

It's thought that their anti-inflammatory affects are the main benefit but they also suppress your immune systems response. 

So steroids would reduce inflammation, especially in the lungs AND regulate the misfiring immune system too. ...........possibly.
