The name or the term is a terrible sounding phrase and it is deceptive because it's not really what people are concerned about.

 There's a reason why Biden and even Bernie Sanders did not support and do not support this idea of defunding police officers and police department

That being said you are even libertarians which are concerned about the police are a far too MILITARY oriented and have a lot of army equipment of social with them. They often raid into peaceful demonstrations during the daytime hours with very aggressive tactics and some departments and unnecessary tear gassing of peaceful protesters

In many States throughout the country social services are cut back dramatically so that the only people who deal with the social problems in a community are the police.

 You have a guy who keeps  Beating his wife when he drinks call the police ...why?  because there are no social services to deal with the problem

You have somebody who has a drug addiction call the police. Why because is nobody there to deal  a problem.

And the current situation   in most departments  is VERY STEESSFUL   for the police who get psychological  help from govt of any kind. Dealing with the worst  dregs of society  24/7 365 s going to  affect  anyone.

I fear that part of it, is that Wayne did not give HIS opinion and only asked yours.

Where you get into trouble here is that you look for fights and battles, using others opinions to get into it with them, while displaying Trump like communication skills to bully and attack their views. 

It's good to have a different view point. The view point does not matter here..........how you express it does. 

Again, this last expression of your viewpoint is what we are after.
