Now it's Kenosha, Wisconsin

An incident occurred in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

A video clearly shows police officers, with their weapons drawn and aimed at a young black man. It looks like the police ordered the man to stop, or lie down, and the man disobeyed..

He briskly walks around his car, (with the police in pursuit) opens the car door and seems to reach for something in the car. That’s when the police shoots him in the back. He is in hospital in serious condition.

Shooting in the back? Not good. Seven shots? Not good.

However… what if he was not looking for his Bible, and was actually reaching for a gun?

Not surprising, the whole community is out protesting. And with the protesting comes the customary looting and anarchy. On the lot of a car dealership, all cars seem to be engulfed in flames.

Here is a surprising comment from a street reporter “BLM rioters with semi-automatic rifles have ordered a Sheriff’s vehicle to stop.”

So, now, protesters armed with military-style rifles are ordering law enforcement around !  Isn’t it supposed to be the other way?

Another interesting comment comes from the Governor. Admitting, that he does not have the details of this incident, he nevertheless immediately sides with the rioters and blames the police.

Oh, and shots were fired from within the crowd of protesters.

no doubt, too many unarmed people are being shot by the police. On the other hand,, why don't the victims just obey the police when they are ordered to stop or lie down?

A taser may have been a better weapon to use than firing 7 shots.

It's always easy to be a Monday-morning quarterback, I am glad I am not a policeman. They have difficult choices to make... choices that can cost them their lives.

"On the other hand,, why don't the victims just obey the police when they are ordered to stop or lie down?"

Gunter,

Many of the people that get shot are not law abiding citizens and are often about to be arrested for doing something wrong.

Why would we expect somebody that committed a crime/breaking the law to suddenly flip a switch in their heads when they are being arrested, that causes them to  think with a completely different mentality?

Suddenly decide to abide by the law?

Not everybody was/is breaking the law either, some folks may just not trust cops or even hate them and not want to cooperate.

Cops don't get called out to the scene of incidents because everybody wants to shake their hands and congratulate them on doing such a great job.

When they come out to a potential crime scene, they anticipate adversity of some kind.

They know this and they MUST be able to react properly when the inevitable happens......a person fights them or tries to run away. This is one of the most important parts of their jobs.

It doesn't matter what that person did or if they are a criminal or not. They MUST be trained to respect all human life, regardless of the situation.

If they or others are actually being seriously threatened(like with the Michael Brown case in MO, where the criminal was trying to take his gun to shoot him) THEN they can use the appropriate amount of force.

Cops are human and will make judgment mistakes in the heat of the moment.  However, even if these are isolated incidents, there are enough of them to make it clear there is a big problem.

All the facts are not in with this case but the video strongly suggests the cops messed up badly.

Despite the cops in this case making a bad decision that seriously hurt somebody,  the new normal in this country, sadly is for people in that community to react by rioting .........looting, vandalizing, burning down businesses.

Civilized people just do not act this way.

People are acting like we still have widespread lynchings and systemic discrimination and racism by a country controlled by White Supremacists and violent riots are justified.

In the  1950's/60's that's how it actually was for blacks in parts of the south still...........yet, even then MLK caused change with 100% PEACEFUL marches............even while he and his peaceful protestors were beat and jailed.

This is what caused people to respect him. For people to listen to him and see his points. To change their minds. He had a lot of work to do to turn the many wrongs around to being right.

And he did. Guys like him,  John Lewis and Walter Reuther greatly changed the world for the MUCH, MUCH better.

They had 1,000 times more things that needed to be changed and faced 1,000 times more adversity trying to do it and they were 1,000 times more peaceful doing it than the current group that want change.

The current group is using a recipe for failure to address the issue.

You don't fix isolated cases of racism and hatred with hatred and in some cases violence.

You definately don't fix it by calling people that are not racists............racists. Calling a country that is NOT racist.............racist.

This just drives people even farther apart. Couldn't be a more divisive message.

How many people, watching fires or rioting feel good about the hundreds of innocent people being hurt?

Those that do, have an evil mindset............that should be shunned. Shunned as much as the KKK or White Supremacists belief system.

They should get widespread condemnation from all sides.

Ex-Wisconsin governor claims Democrats have ‘almost encouraged’ riots, violence in cities

"Rioting has heightened in the state of Wisconsin after Kenosha resident Jacob Blake was shot by police and video of the incident went viral.

But ex-Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker told FOX Business’ Neil Cavuto that Democratic leaders are really to blame for continued nationwide violence.

“Unfortunately, Democrats like Joe Biden and even Gov. Evers here in Wisconsin have seemed to at least leapfrog the entire process,” he said. “And in a way, I believe have almost… encouraged people to go forward with the rioting, which is… causing incredible damage and harm to the people who live in that very community.”

ov. Tony Evers released a statement addressing the incident, claiming that Blake was shot several times in the back even though video evidence showing the moment he was shot is unavailable.

Walker said the case will be taken into a private investigation where more details will be confirmed but the lines are a little more blurred than, for example, George Floyd’s case in Minneapolis.

“I don't know what's going to happen in this case,” he said. “What I do know is that leaders at the local, state and the federal level have to speak out about violence. The rioting does no good and only causes more harm, more danger.”

Walker ensured that making these changes is completely doable and used Sen. Tim Scott’s proposed bill as an example which he suggested “could have” passed the U.S. Senate.

“We need to do more things like that, but we cannot rush to just allow rioters to go forward,” he said. “And I think the governor here needs to bring out more members of National Guard, gain control. Let the investigation go forth independently and see where the facts take us.”

Gov. Evers has since called on the National Guard to control rioting."

new video footage has now surfaced. The victim had apparently several warrants outstanding. He had a knife in his hand and was engaged in  a fight with 2 of the officers. When he was tased, he dropped the knife and then tried to get away from the police, opened the car door to get something else.

Still.... shot in the back... not good. Shot 7 times... not good.

What's disturbing, IMHO, is the aftermath. Riot and looting, burning down whole city blocks... that's the new normal.

But then I saw a video, showing a BLM protester, armed with an assault rifle, threatening an armored Sheriff's car.

We all know, the police couldn't shoot a protester under such circumstances, if the attacker was black, because riots would immediately sweep the whole country. But this attacker was white. It seems to me, since he was white, they should have been justified to either attempt to immediately arrest this guy, or, if he makes a threatening move with his gun, shoot him.

yes we have a mess and its going to spread. If I was a cop and somebody tried to kill me with a knife it hard telling what I would do...7 times in the back, I don't know and none of us do. Police are taught to end the threat before somebody else gets hurt.

they end the treat, lives are saved and then they face the real possibility of being prosecuted. What a job. Rioters loot, burn, steal and kill and go free and libs applaud them. Some more people are going to die before we finally end this madness. Remember 6 short months ago when most anyone who wanted to work was working and we had no time for this nonsense? Then the dems saw an opening to hurt Trump. What a sad tale they will have to explain to their heirs.

Gov. Declares State of Emergency

"Gov. Tony Evers (D) declared a state of emergency on Tuesday and ordered additional Wisconsin National Guard troops to assist local law enforcement agencies, bringing to 250 the number of troops deployed to the city.

Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, a Republican, said in a tweet Wednesday that it was "heartbreaking" that violence in the city had led to fatalities. He then chastised the state's governor for not accepting an offer from President Trump for more National Guard troops."

"Governor should call in the National Guard in Wisconsin. It is ready, willing, and more than able. End problem FAST!" the president tweeted Tuesday.

NPR calls it chastising?

No............ they are suggesting and offering assistance to HELP! They want to make it better!
