Am surprised that there is no discussion here on the Supreme Court Ruling today.

From CNN: 5 takeaways from the Supreme Court's monumental ruling in support of Trump's travel ban

https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/26/politics/scotus-travel-ban-donald-trump/index.html

"In its most consequential decision of the term, the Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld President Donald Trump's so-called "travel ban" -- arguing that the chief executive has the power to limit entrance into the US from seven countries."

There really is no question that the president has control of the borders.  The ruling should have been a no brainer.  But of course, in her dissention, Sotomayor claimed  it was a religious ban and in violation of specific clauses in the 1st amendment.  That, to me is the most concerning aspect of this whole debate.

You can't call it a religious ban unless it bans all members of a particular religious group and the vast majority of Muslims worldwide  can still enter this country. Granted, entry to this country by foreign nationals is still essentially at the pleasure of the commander in chief and he can use just about any justification he wants..    But I would be uncomfortable with a ban based solely on religious affiliation in spite of the fact that there is no constitutional right granting foreign nationals a right of entry.

The fact that we have 4 supreme court justices intentionally misinterpreting a ruling while ignoring basic principles of the constitution is the real problem here.  They are acting more like liberal activists than constitutional scholars.

Of course it's a religious ban. ALL the Muslims from the excluded countries can NOT enter this country.

Not following your logic.

Are there Muslims that can enter this country?  Why,  yes there are.  Billions of them actually.  We are excluding regionally,  not religiously. The fact that these regions are predominately Muslim does not make this a religious ban.

... in fact 92 percent of all of the world's Muslisms are free to travel in our great Country.
