Pres Biden held a town hall meeting at CNN. I didn’t watch it, so I decided to read the commentaries of news media from the left and the right, to get a balanced picture.

(links to references at bottom of post)

CNN headline: “Biden shows he is the voice of presidential sanity”

The article compared Trump’s and Biden’s presidency. While Trump has “turned the presidency into a lewd and shocking display”, “Biden has taken on the responsibility of presidential sanity”

The article briefly mentioned the wide ranging subjects of the meeting, without going into much detail, with the exception of the Covid19 issue.

“Biden has put his foot on the gas for Covid vaccinations, radically ramping up vaccination rates despite, as he said in the town hall, inheriting a situation where virtually nothing was set up and there really was no plan.”

There also was a touching moment, when he assured a little girl that she doesn’t need to worry about Covid19

Ref b)

To find out more about the other subjects discussed, I had to turn to the other news source

Biden spoke about domestic terrorism and white supremacy groups.

There was absolutely no mention of the summer of 2020, when Antifa/BLM looted and burned countless stores, caused 2 Bill in damage, injured 700+ police officers and killed numerous people. Instead, he specifically mentioned the Proud Boys [a group that, to the best of my knowledge, has not set a single building on fire]

Rather, Pres Biden wants to focus on white supremacy groups, adding that former police officers and military are impacting the growth of these groups.

Pres. Biden also added “….It is a bane on our existence. It has always been as Lincoln said we have to you appear to a battle angels these guys are not and women they are in fact demented. They are dangerous people.”

I am not quite sure what the last statement means, but, I get it… they are dangerous people, Antifa/BLM are not.

Biden also briefly answered a question about the Uyghurs in China. A while back, he had called their treatment by the Chinese government as “genocide”. Not this time… this time, he called it simple “differences in cultural norms”

Right, Trump is crazy and lies. And Biden stated "we did not have the vaccine when we came into office"

From the article:

"Four weeks into his presidency, Biden is governing exactly as advertised: with competence, humanity and moderation."

"Biden has put his foot on the gas for Covid vaccinations, radically ramping up vaccination rates despite, as he said in the town hall, inheriting a situation where virtually nothing was set up and there really was no plan."

"Biden has taken on the responsibility of presidential sanity. We need our media outlets to step up and cover this White House not as voyeurs obsessed with scandal and conflict, but as interpreters and checks on power who can hold this president accountable and explain what his policies and decisions actually mean for our day-to-day lives."

metmike: WOWSEREE. This is moderation?

Watched Biden earlier on CNN interviewed during a town hall.

Didn't see all of it but he sounded pretty good on some of it.

He insisted that America is not divided.  I have to wonder if he wants us to think that he thinks that or does he actually really think that? He just can't be that out of touch with reality.

The vast majority of people live in the real world and know how extremely divided the US is.

CNN town hall with President Biden

Biden thinks the nation is not divided: Biden said he takes issue with "everybody" stating that the US is a divided country. Biden explained that he believes most people in the country agree on issues like coronavirus aid. "The nation is not divided. You go out there and take a look and talk to people, you have fringes on both ends. But it's not nearly as divided as we make it out to be and we have to bring it together," Biden said.

metmike: He also insisted this  below over 3 weeks ago, 2 weeks AFTER COVID had already peaked(and here, 3 weeks later, the COVID numbers are down 60%).

Post election,  Biden says "Nothing will change the trajectory of covid over the next several months"

metmike: Honestly, I think that we are just living in a world that accepts the fact that politicians and news sources are going to make up their own interpretations and facts of news reports/items so it supports their agenda/belief system.

And we have many people that believe it because its what they want to believe.

It is also worthwhile mentioning, that Pres. Biden, at this time, is too busy to meet with foreign leaders.

Instead, possibly-soon-to-be-president Kamala Harris is busy making contact with foreign leaders…

She already has promised the leader of Canada to help negotiate the release of a Canadian citizen, held captive in China

She also spoke with the leader of France about various world crises, as well as cooperation in space exploration

I guess I didn't see those portions of the interview and was trying to give Biden the benefit of the doubt but it's clear that he is doing what everybody else in the MSM and politics are doing much of the time.................saying things(or trying to say them in Bidens case) that are not meant to be accurate facts(because they are not) but are meant to represent a philosophy/belief system(which they sincerely believe) that needs a good story that these people create(propaganda) to steal as many brains as they can get to believe in it........so they can impose it.

Trump was the best at making stuff up to support his agenda........but of course, the MSM called him out on it.

They obviously adore Biden and Harris, who will rarely get criticized for anything they do.

Trump said that he could shoot somebody on Main street and his followers would still vote for him.

Biden could obliterate the US with horrible agenda..........and the MSM would still refer to him as saving us from Trump.

Biden is saving us from Trump.  The pertinent question..  did we need saving from what Trump was trying to do?
