Covid and Politics

Earlier this year, we saw a dramatic decline of Covid19 infections and deaths.

What happened?

Explanation 1:

Some people say “it’s because of the vaccines”. I don’t believe this is true. When cases started falling, only a minor number of people had been vaccinated.

Explanation 2:

Covid19 did what viruses often do… they fizzle out on their own. This could be true.

Explanation 3:

Some people say, it was all politically arranged, to destroy Trump’s chances of winning the election. That sounds like “conspiracy theory”. But let’s play “Devil’s Advocate” and take a closer look at this outrageous story

When the virus first arrived, Trump wanted to close the borders (as many countries did later), but keep businesses open (as was done successfully in Sweden).

His opponents of course wanted to use this opportunity to hurt Trump. “Never let a crisis go to waste”. “They” (whoever they are) knew they could wipe out Trump’s success and the booming economy by making this virus a curse. And they could blame Trump for mishandling the pandemic, and thereby ruin his hopes for success in the next election.

Let’s check this out. I found the website linked below. It shows a really neat chart. Use your cursor on the graph, and you can get the Covid data for every day.

On the left, you can choose between seeing “infections” or “deaths”

Here is what the chart tells us, in line with the option 3 theory…

After the virus arrived, we were pummeled with increasingly bad data. Deaths were rapidly increasing. We were all made aware how dangerous this virus really was. There was only one thing to do, “they” told us.

And so they did. “They” closed businesses, made millions of people unemployed, locked up all of us in our homes, and had us scared to catch this horrible virus.

It worked, we gladly complied.. and by April the People had been thoroughly convinced that the draconian measures were for their own good…. and “they” could let fatality rates drop a bit

But then some people started pointing out that the fatalities were mostly affecting old folks, and the younger generation started to relax

People had to be told that all of us were potential targets for the virus…. and infection rates started to climb, including all ages, and reached a peak around July.

Job well done!

The People had now accepted this new life as their “new normal”

Throughout the rest of summer, businesses stayed closed, people remained unemployed….and the Covid data continued at a lower, but steady level.

However, by fall it became clear that Trump was finding great success with his wild campaign rallies, while Biden hid in his house and rarely addressed his followers… and when he did, he didn’t have much of an audience.

This alarmed Trump’s enemies, and they had to do something to stop his momentum. Sure enough, by late September, Covid infection numbers started rising dramatically… and kept climbing..

The Covid death numbers still stayed approximately the same for a while, up to the election. However, after Nov 4, it became clear that Trump would not accept defeat… and this scared “them”. Something else had to be done. And shortly after election day, fatality numbers also started rising dramatically.

Trump kept on talking about a “stolen election”, and his lawyers were busy causing trouble…..and covid numbers became worse and worse (all because of Trump’s handling of the pandemic, of course)

But then came the infamous day, Jan 06. The events of that day gave Trump’s popularity the death blow. Even republican politicians started distancing themselves from their leader. It became clear that Trump’s election battle was finally over..

Sure enough, on Jan 8, just like clockwork, infection cases peaked and started falling quickly. Trump’s fight was over. There was no more need to keep the People in panic mode.

Fatality cases, on the other hand, hovered around high levels a little bit longer. However, on Jan 20, Pres Biden was inaugurated, and that was it… Biden moved into the WH, and Trump was finally gone. A few days later, fatality rates also started dropping quickly. There was no more need to keep them high.

There you have it…. strange coincidences?

Please don’t take this post seriously, and don’t call me a conspiracy theorist.   It’s more like satire.

IMHO, the pandemic started to recede, because of explanation 2.

Gunter,

You're correct about them blaming COVID on Trump and using it to help them unseat him for the presidency.

But you are looking at a graph of COVID and making up your own, (or somebody else's) completely political explanation with absolutely no understanding of the science that caused it to turn out that way.

Science is what I do and I've been tracking COVID daily for over a year, while using science to try to  understand whats going on.

more in a minute.....when I get back to explain it.

Last May, we had already hit a seasonal  peak in COVID and rates were falling for all age groups............................then George Floyd was killed on May 26 and the massive protesting began.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_George_Floyd_protests_in_the_United_States

"Protests had continued throughout the entire month of June in many cities, with protests occurring in over 40% of counties in the United States.[1] Polls estimate between 15 million and 26 million people participated in the United States, making these protests potentially the largest movement in terms of participation in U.S. history"

This caused rates to go back up in June for only protesting aged adults and also blacks.

Fauci came out with concerns over this in June, then in July backed off and said he was not in a position to make a decision about protesting and COVID..............though he was insisting that people not gather in groups of 10 or more at churches and other places. Clearly, the politics overruled the no brainer science.

Could the gatekeepers controlling the message about COVID and protesting and also Fauci actually wanted COVID rates to go higher to hurt Trump? It's possible but more than likely that was just an extra bonus for them.

When the protesting went way down, COVID then resumed its decline into September, after which, the seasonality of virus's kicked in as it has done for the flu since records have been kept.

The flu season always begins in the Fall...............always and mostly because of the change to cooler weather.

So it was 100% expected that COVID rates would go higher last Fall based on the science/medicine and had 0% to do with politics or an election.

This continued until early January, when we hit an early peak in the seasonal COVID season. This was partly from the vaccinations of those in the most vulnerable age group(that were responsible for the vast, vast majority of cases) in combination with a fairly large # of  people that already had it.....also, many of those in that age group.

So while we were not at herd immunity, the older people quickly obtained immunity, thanks to them getting vaccinated in December.

To state that the numbers were just being manipulated to show what they needed them to show at various stages this past Fall/Winter means a complete lack of understanding how they report.

It would be impossible for them to get together and fix the numbers for the daily cases AND the hospitalizations AND the deaths. This wasn't just a couple of organizations that decided on the numbers, there were many  thousands of separate entities all reporting independent of each other. The cumulative number was always based on adding it all up. One would have to be pretty delusional about this to think that all those sources were somehow colluding or that a couple of sources even had an option to do anything except add up the numbers they were given.

If you don't believe that, then you are fooling yourself.

If you want to think that over reporting of deaths, was somehow ramped up during times to hurt Trump then, dropped back down after he was gone, then again, you have a very wild imagination. ....especially since the science explains the current numbers.

metmike, I made it clear that I don't have any "facts" to back this story scientifically. It's just a strange coincidence that infections peaked on Jan 8

That's why I called it "satire"

"That's why I called it "satire""

That's odd Gunter, I didn't notice that the first time that I read it.

Must be getting old......sorry about that )-:
