U.S. export inspections were relatively strong last week. Some 938kt #corn were inspected for #China, should be a marketing year high.

New-crop #corn sales headlined by 3.74 mmt to #China. #Mexico bought 200kt new crop. Soybean sales were quiet, though total new-crop now stands at 7 mmt.

New-crop U.S. #corn sales are in a league of their own now. As of Thursday, at least 14.7 million tonnes (579 mln bu) had been sold (10.7 to #China, 4 to others). A total of 18.6 mmt had been sold by the time 2020/21 MY started, record high in at least recent times.

#Corn sales are all the rage right now, but #soybeans should not be overlooked. New-crop U.S. soybean sales hit 7 million tonnes (258 mbu) as of May 13, a seven-year best for the date. 44% are #China, 37% unknown.

#China imported more U.S. #soybeans than normal in April because supplies out of #Brazil were delayed. Total April imports were up 11% from April 2020.
