how to fight California's wildfire problem

California has been subjected to horrific wildfires during the last few years.

It has been pointed out on this forum that these fires have nothing to do with the “climate crisis”.   California’s weather is connected to the temperature of the Pacific Ocean.Cold water, no rain. Warm water, lots of rain.

The state Is in an ongoing drought for the last few years. You don’t need high air temperatures to get a raging fire started. The problem is the dry underbrush, the dry branches lying on the forest floor.

This year, it’s expected to get really bad, since there was hardly any rain during winter.

A few years ago, Pres Trump made the absurd comment that the state should remove dead wood from the forest floor.

This year, the state figured out a way to reduce the severity of the fires….. by cleaning up the forest floor

I had to go back a ways but it was fun to find some great stuff from the past......ok, maybe not so great stuff and a reminder of why we had to ban a couple of people for personal attacks and foul language.
