Earnings have been good to great and overall metrics have been decent as the economy opens up.  What else would you expect?   You would expect equities would be doing something more,   but then you hear about a "world wide minimum corp tax" and  "retro-active tax increases on the rich" and so on, and now a fully partisan (read weaponized) FTC placing a target on the backs of "Tech Giants" , and you think, "Stocks are doing pretty good, all things considered.:

Biden’s antitrust chair gets off to an aggressive start (msn.com)

"The FTC has long touted itself as a bipartisan agency, less prone to the party-line votes that characterize much of the business at bodies like the Federal Communications Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

“The FTC has a long history of bipartisanship, and we work hard to maintain that tradition,” then-Chair Joe Simons, a Republican, told a Senate panel in 2018.

That spirit was absent Thursday, however, as every item on the agenda passed in a 3-2 party line vote. Republicans Noah Phillips and Christine Wilson repeatedly decried the new approach, accusing the Democrats of risking a congressional backlash by overstepping decades of precedent and the agency's legal authority."

Sadly Tim, the democrats have obtained enough power to do what they want in many realms and its a winner take all in todays world using the ends justifies the means.

Even more sadly is the embarrassing way the republicans handed the power over to them via Trumpism as they continue to fight amongst themselves with half of them still totally unaware that their hero, Donald Trump caused all of this and the only way to ever unite and take more control back is to put as much disance between them and Trump as possible.

Instead, half the party has elevated Trump to a super hero status who should rightfully be the president right now.

Democrats are going to have to mess up really, really, really bad before the country contemplates a party that is embracing Trump still.

And that probably won't do it.

I think that stuff like this is only the beginning. This last week, on CNN guests have been making the case of NOT EVEN TRYING to comprimize with republicans because republicans are so messed up and wrong and are only trying to sabotage good things from being passed.

Only Democrats, with their all knowing wisdom and altruistic intentions  know what 100% best for our country and we need to trust this.

With half the R party still embracing Trump, AFTER what he just did.................they can absolutely win with the strategy.
