U.S. #corn inspections last week top expectations. Bigger volume to #China at 840kt. USDA also added two extra cargoes of corn to China from mid-July.

Big new-crop #corn sales last week, mostly to Japan and Mexico (none to #China).

Old-crop corn sales offset China's cancellation of 113kt. China canceled 41kt old-crop #soybeans but bought 129kt new. New-crop soy to unknown totaled 142kt.

It's hard to compare new sales of #soybeans with last summer, though, because last year was such an anomaly. June/July 2020 sales were nearly 3x the prior average. Lots of action from #China. But June/July 2021 sales were still below previous normals.

By July 29, USA had sold 10.6 mln tonnes (390 mln bu) of #soybeans for export in 2021/22. That compares with 14.9 mmt a year ago and is below the 10-year average for the date but above the 5-year. 41% is #China, 34% is unknown.
