With just over 36,000 COVID-19 cases and 937 deaths, Australia has avoided the high caseloads of other developed countries, but its vaccination figures are among the lowest, with only 20% of people aged over 16 fully vaccinated.
MANILA, Aug 7 (Reuters) - The Philippines' health ministry recorded on Saturday 11,021 new coronavirus cases, the highest single-day case increase in almost four months, and 162 additional deaths.
In a bulletin, the ministry said total confirmed infections in the Philippines have increased to almost 1.65 million, while deaths have reached 28,835.
"We are already feeling the effects of the Delta variant in our country," health ministry undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire told a public briefing on Saturday. "Based on our projections, these cases will continue to rise."
even tho they have a very low vaccination rate, india has managed to reduce its covid rate with other meds.
india is using invermectin.
more evidence is showing that things like malaria meds, even hydroxy (like trump used), can be used effectively.
these drugs are widely available, and cheap, and effective for the most part.
(until recently they did not have massive testing to convince the establishment).
even if you get vaccinated, covid with adapt, and come back around again......just like the flu.
every year, it will be cold, and flu, and covid season.
the LAST thing we need is fascism, and shutdowns.
Thanks bear!
I'll have to look closer at Ivermectin.
This is obviously no substitute for being vaccinated, which by an extremely wide margin provides the best protection......... just like we wouldn't tell people before the flu season........ don't get vaccinated, just get the flu and take some "Tamiflu"..........which actually is proven to help. ......especially if you take it very early.
COVID is something like 10 times more deadly to the vulnerable population than the flu.....so NOT getting COVID is a big objective and the vaccine, arms the immune system so it can produce antibodies to protect that person much more effectively than taking a controversial drug that may help some people.

For sure we will be developing better drugs to treat COVID with time.
