Corn ratings dropped 2% and beans fell 3%.
No surprise based on all these maps.
When it was cool the week before it didn't hurt but last week brought some heat and not much rain.

Farm location is in north central LaSalle County near intersection of I80 and Ill 71.
Crops look at least good to very good. Any additional rain will surely make for (much) above yields in a broad area.
Heat has dimished with 3-4 timely .2-.5 rains. Saturday next best chance for rain.
Despite horrible conditions in parts of ND, SD, NE, Mn, and iowa, most of Il, iowa, ind, and Ohio will most likely exceed average yields.
Looking for lower prices into Friday-Monday with potential for daily and weekly lows to be established, especially soya. Watch 1300 level Nov beans.
Thanks much tjc!
ProFarmer is giving us their snapshot view this week too.

Temps will also cool again and there should be abundant rain in the extended forecasts.
edit: I withdraw my abundant rain in the extended forecasts after looking closer at the models and forecasts. This was the previous European model (drier one) forecast for 2 week rains. See the latest Extended forecasts below.
This is the rain forecast for the next 7 days:

The latest guidance has continued cooler and this also causes it dry out more in the Midwest.
Cool would be especially beneficial to corn filling but the lack of rain in the center of the cornbelt, would ordinarily be seen as bullish...........but its getting pretty late for the weather to over power all other factors.
In my little corner of NE Ohio crops, my lawn, golf courses, etc all are lush and green. It’s been raining for what seems like 4 days now.
Good rains coming up to IA and Upper Midwest continue to be bearish.
How's the crop doing elsewhere?
