The big shocker was how poorly the Winter Wheat crop is for the first rating of the year.
Just 46% G/E, along with 20% P/VP.
HRW/KE wheat opened several cents higher on this news but had dropped to being as low as down 2c and is almost at that price now. Maybe its the potential rain event coming up to the eastern part of the HRW belt?

The states with 20% or higher P/VP wheat ratings were:
OR-73%
CA-60%!
SD-47%
MT-42%
TX-32%
WA-28%
CO-21%
This is all HRW country.
You can see why on the map below because they all have low soil moisture........except for SD. That one seems very odd.
The SRW crop is looking wonderful right now.

The extended forecast is on the dry side for many of those locations:

just an update for my little -neck-of-the woods.
The 2nd wettest October has caused;
Harvest has been very slow here with way more than normal amounts of beans yet to harvest. I still have 15% of my beans yet to run. latest bean harvest for me in more than 20 years. Bean moisture has been very wet.
Corn only ran part of 1 day. Still 90% to go. About the same for my neighbors.
JMHO
Thanks cutworm!
How about everybody else?
