We do special things for the one(s) that we love the most on Valentines Day.....which is wonderful.
Just like we are most thankful for all the wonderful things in our lives on Thanksgiving.
And we celebrate birthdays and anniversary's and holidays once a year by recognizing a person or event in a unique way............just one time a year.
This is terrific and it sends a strong positive message to people that are recognized or events but its sort of done because its expected by society that we behave that way on those days.
How we celebrate is up to us but people don't celebrate the frame of mind of Thanksgiving exactly the same as that day for most of the other 364 days.
When you have your wedding anniversary, there is a much greater chance that you get your spouse a gift that day vs just a random day that YOU select to do it on spontaneously.
Same with birthdays.
Nobody gives their loved ones a present because they are 53 years and 27 days old.
Or celebrate Thanksgiving on June 23rd.
Society and traditions tell us how to behave/what our frame of mind should be for many dozens, if not 100+ days a year.
Black history month is February.
Today is Valentines Day.
Don't forget to act accordingly(based on expectations) on Valentines Day!
