Our country produces more than 100 thousand tons per year, that is 6% of the honey produced in the world. Currently, in Ukraine there are about 400 thousand beekeepers, which account for 4 million hives,” the report says.

It is noted that the main producers of honey are eight areas: Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Poltava and Kirovograd, which produce 70% of Ukrainian honey, supplied to 35 countries.

It is reported that most of the honey that is produced in Ukraine is supplied to the US, Germany, Poland, and France, altogether 35 countries.

i suspect that europe gets honey from ukraine for the same reason that the u.s.a. gets honey from mexico, china, and argentina.  honey from mexico is cheaper.

ukraine is the poorest country in europe.  so the cost of honey from ukraine would be much lower.  for a citizen from france, honey would be more expensive if they did not import from poorer countries.

i could get a higher price  for my honey if we did not import so much from mexico, china, and argentina.

the average customer would rather pay 7 bucks for a pint, instead of 12 bucks.

most honey from mexico is good quality.  but.  honey from china is Very LOW quality.  a bottler blends it in to cut costs, and improve their bottom line.

if you want a good product,  then you should buy honey from a local beekeeper.  do NOT buy it from a big box store.

most big box stores sell honey that has china's honey blended in.  1/3 of what is in the bottle is from china, but it is Not listed on the bottle.

the source only is listed as long as it is more than 50% of what is in the bottle.  if china is 30% of what is in the bottle, then it is not listed on the label.  products from china are often contaminated.  (less safe).

this is true for honey, or apple juice,  etc.

this is why i never buy the generic product.  and i try to look for 100% usa on the label.

In the last decade, there has been a threatening trend of mass deaths of bees in the world. The causes of this catastrophe are the so-called collapse of the bee family (CDD syndrome), which was the result of the development of "civilization" and the total use of veterinary drugs (antibiotics), pesticides, herbicides and GMOs in agriculture.

If the decline in bee populations continues, the bees will disappear from Earth by 2035. This is a threat to human life.

World beekeeping is offered different approaches to solving this problem. This is usually the use of modern super veterinary drugs. It should be noted that not all methods and drugs currently used for the treatment and prevention of bees can be recommended for the future. We are talking, first of all, about antibiotics. It is necessary to reconsider the use of medical and veterinary drugs for prevention and treatment for a number of reasons:

1) by the action of antibiotics that destroy the immunity of bees;
2) on the rapid habituation to antibiotics of pathogens;
3) to fight for the quality and safety of beekeeping products.

Scientists and beekeepers in Ukraine have focused on the study of bee biology and the bee family. Innovative technology of healing bees without drugs, developed by Ukrainian scientist Ph.D., veterinarian Khmara P.Ya. He developed and applied in practical beekeeping a unique method of artificial regulation of bee reproduction, which allows:

 - Restore lost immunity of bees;
 - 100% recovery of bees from diseases of brood and diseases of adult bees (adults) without the use of veterinary drugs;
 - To run a highly profitable farm without the cost of medicines;
 - Increase the production of environmentally friendly honey to 60%;
 - Increase the cost of high quality beekeeping products at least 1.5 times;
 - Ensure pollination of insect-pollinated (entomophytic) crops, which helps to increase their yield to 65%.

The unique technology has already been called the technology of future beekeeping. Thus, the discovery of A. Maurizio (1958) on the genetic possibility of increasing the life expectancy of bees, the regularity of life expectancy of bees from the generation of royal jelly by them was introduced into practical beekeeping. Bees that have generated royal jelly - live 39 days, short-lived, physiologically old. Those who did not generate it - live 396 days, long-lived, physiologically young. The target global market for the use of innovative technology is 48 million bee families, including: - Europe - 12.5 million; - Asia - 4.0 million; - North America - 5.5 million; - South America - 3.0 million; - Africa - 8.0 million The effectiveness of combating progressive bee diseases by artificially regulating reproduction depends on the organization of measures and the scale of application of the technology. Practical results of recovery of bees without medicines were received on 17 thousand bee families in Ukraine. The method is patented in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. Khmara Petro Yakovych, was born in 1927 in the village of Ivankovichi, Kyiv region, Ph.D., veterinarian, well-known scientist, author of the book "Technology of healing bees without drugs - harmful to human health" (Kyiv - 2008), 200 scientific papers and publications. This is a passionate M.I.t. Thesis work

Comb the Honey: Bee Interface Design

Abstract:
The overarching goal of the thesis is to understand the mechanisms by which complex forms are created
in biological systems and how the external environment and factors can influence generations over
different scales of space, time, and materials.
My research focuses on Nature’s most celebrated architects — bees — and their architectural masterpiece
— the honeycomb. Bee honeycombs are wax-made cellular structures of hexagonal prismatic geometries.
Within the comb, bees form their nests, grow their larvae, and store honey and pollen. They operate as a
“social womb” informed, at once, by communal (genetic) makeup and environmental forces. Resource
sharing, labor division, and unique communication methods all contribute to the magic that is the bee
“Utopia.” Given that the geometrical, structural, and material make up of honeycombs is informed by the
environment, these structures act as environmental footprints, revealing, as a time capsule, the history of
its external environment and factors.
In this research, a new installation is designed, enabling the bees to achieve their full potentials as a whole;
it enhances the abilities of bees for self-regulation and self-organization so as to promote the resilience of
bees in the semi-nature at present.
The novel bee incubator is a detachable installation that can be recycled to bees every Spring while serving
as an observational compartment for researchers. It also presents as artwork for display in museums during
Winter. This research thrives on a distinctive vision of diverse interactions of technology, design, science,
and art, employing an intricate interface that allows us to heal, replenish, augment, and renew the
relationship between humans, bees, and nature.
