U.S. export inspections were in line with expectations last week and incl. 472kt #corn and 424kt #soybeans to #China.

#Wheat inspections were near the top end of estimates.

Export inspections of U.S. #soybeans have stayed in line with averages over the last several months, though the volumes are a little stronger in the last two weeks. The string of record export sales in early 2022 should keep inspections elevated in the coming months.

#Corn inspections are respectable, not quite what they were a year ago, but the annual export expectation is lower this year. Shipments are still predicted to be very strong this year, so these numbers should be good in the coming weeks, esp. since it's peak season.

And finally, U.S. #corn export inspections to #China. Last year, the strongest shipments went out in May/June.

More handy info if you're new here. Right now, old-crop refers to 2021/22 US corn and soybeans, new-crop is 2022/23. The marketing year runs from Sep-Aug. The corn & soybeans US farmers will harvest this coming summer/fall are 2022/23 supplies.

#Brazil will harvest 139 million tonnes of #soybeans in 2022/23, according to USDA's attache. That's nearly identical to the 2020/21 volume but well above 2021/22, estimated at 124.8 mmt. One year ago, the attache put 21/22 at 141 mmt and USDA officially pegged it at 144 mmt.

USDA confirms the sale of 132,000 tonnes of U.S. #soybeans for delivery to #China in 2021/22.  That's the "old-crop" marketing year, and it ends August 31, 2022.

#China imported 6.35 mmt of #soybeans in March, down 18% on the year as poor crush margins curbed demand.

However, Jan-Mar imports of 20.3 mmt are down just 4% from the same period in 2021 and are the 2nd best on record.
