Tariffs

The Trump administration instituted tariffs and the Biden administration has continued them.  True conservatives, not to be confused with the populist followers of Trump, should have objected (they didn't).

Tariffs are inflationary.  It seems like an obvious move in the current inflationary environment to remove the tariffs.  It wouldn't require legislation, which is practically impossible our broken political system.

(could have been TR but I expect this thread to descend into a political squabble so I left it in NTR)

I am generaly opposed to tarrifs, regardless of who is president. They are, as JOJ stated, inflationary, and they fund inneficiency/incompetence.

Trump used them as a barganing chip with some success in some cases, but the tarriffs remain.

The left uses them to bolster union jobs.

Either way, the consumer generally spends more than they get.
