Seriously, the best chance to end the war abruptly here would be what's most important to President Biden than anything else...........votes in the upcoming election. If he ended the war in Ukraine just before these upcoming elections it could potentially generate millions of votes from those that see all of his policies as failing badly and or being very damaging to America. Even if that's why he did it, I would give him a standing ovation for finally doing something that helps not hurts.

I already made every comment that can be made here, unless something drastically changes)

And a big thanks to joj, for insisting repeatedly that I respond, which to me, means spending hours with objective analysis FIRST. It's always wonderful when we can learn new things, regardless of whether they are unexpected and especially when we find out new things that we don't like but must know for objective discernment.

What makes you think that ending the war is within the power of a foreign country?

Neither the Ukranian people, nor the Russian dictator has any interest whatsoever in ending this war.

Did you not read the article joj and are you pretending that you don't know that this war involves many NATO countries?

My comment related to this in the article:

  • The Pentagon confirmed a phone call between the US defense secretary, Lloyd Austin, and the Russian defence minister, Sergei Shoigu. It said Austin “emphasised the importance of maintaining lines of communication” with Shoigu. Russia’s defence ministry said of the call: “Topical issues of international security, including the situation in Ukraine, were discussed.”

  • The Pentagon also published a readoutof Austin’s call with the Ukrainian defence minister, Oleksii Reznikov. The US defence secretary pledged “unwavering US commitment” to supporting Ukraine against Russia.

The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, said the US would consider every means to advance diplomacy with Russia if it saw an opening, but at the moment Moscow showed no sign of willingness to engage in meaningful talks. Reuters reported Blinken as saying: “Every indication is that far from being willing to engage in meaningful diplomacy, President Putin continues to push in the opposite direction.”

I'm sure that you knew exactly what was meant and this clarification was not needed.

Regardless, if some sort of agreement were reached between now and the November elections(which is extremely unlikely), you can bet that Biden would use it, doing an address to the American people telling us how he and the democratic officials in his administration brokered the deal and regardless of his/their real role, would take credit for it.

I'm very aware of Biden's position to support Ukraine but Biden will do a complete 180 on anything if he thinks it will get more votes.

Fossil fuels for instance.

For years telling everybody emphatically that fossil fuels are going to end. A major promise in his platform while running for president.  During his first year in office, doing everything imagineable to cause that to happen.

Then, recently doing a complete turnaround. Blaming the fossil fuel/oil  companies for what he caused(and claiming the high prices are from them price gouging to take advantage of Americans) and Putin for the rest of it. Pretending to be pro fossil fuel production to help the American people with high energy costs.

This is as believable as a greening up planet, with a booming biosphere and best weather/climate for life and crop growing because of the increase in a beneficial gas going from .03% to .04% is a climate crisis...with X years left to "save the planet" (-:

In other words, people are extremely gullible and they WILL believe it.........which is why he did it.

BTW, the United Nations started sounding the X years left to save the planet  alarm back in the 1980's, when the drop deadline was the year 2000. 22 years later, life is doing BETTER and the planet is even greener. There are 30% more polar bears too (-:

The United Nations created the IPCC(InterGOVERNMENTAL Panel on Climate Change) as the world’s authority on man made climate change………so that they could hijack climate science to accomplish their agenda.
Their regular reports are used for believers of climate crisis religion, similar to how Christians use the New Testament (-:

There's a not coincidental alignment between NATO countries and the fake climate crisis(anti fossil fuels) and NON NATO countries/ those that  are not on board with the accord (are pro fossil fuels).............and also side with Russia or are neutral.

"In spite of the flow of weaponry which the West helpfully provides to keep the war going, they too have been severely weakened after months of war."

+++++++++

This last comment is actually under their Ukraine winning the war scenario and it tells us that they are not properly grappling with an intelligent strategy. A willingness to continue to take losses to gains at a rate of 10,000+ to 1.........endlessly......out of principle to stop evil.

We all know about choosing between the lesser of 2 evils. So far, they have clearly picked the WRONG one.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesser_of_two_evils_principle

The damage: Many deaths from both sides. Trillions in property/structural damage IN UKRAINE!. Hundreds of billions+ of tax payer money sent to Ukraine, much  for killing equipment that could be spent to help poor people (make the world better) in those countries. Global disruption in trade and higher commodity prices affecting all 8 billion people. The potential for a nuclear war that could be 1 zillion times worse for the planet and the human race than even the worse case scenario of the fake climate crisis(which is actually greening up the planet)

The gains: Reports are that Ukraine has taken back small sections of Russian occupied territory.   Hope that eventually, Putin will die or "something" will happen to stop him from taking over Ukraine(he's formally annexed 4 sections already-not recognized). There is no clear path to victory or even a cloudy path to victory.  Just keep fighting  because its the right thing to do.

If this were a video game and the player wanted to survive and understood that it was impossible to win, why would they pick this option?

In that case, the wrong choice means having to start a new game with some experience to make a better choice next time.

But this is the real world and we don't get to start over. The losses are real and forever. The more they accumulate with no end in sight, the worse it gets.

West sees Russia’s ‘dirty bomb’ claims as pretext for possible Ukraine  escalation

https://www.ft.com/content/b5deaec3-91d8-4035-be2c-1a7c06ae8ba9

The threat, which was condemned by the US, UK and France as an attempt to lay the ground for a “false flag” attack blamed on Ukraine, has heightened fears that the eight month-long war will go nuclear, as analysts warn the key message was that whichever weapons are used, Ukraine should prepare for further escalation.

Two western officials told the FT on condition of anonymity that they believed the threats were a means to maintain fears in the west of a potential nuclear event in Ukraine, given the orchestrated nature of the warning, and to test how western capitals would respond. A dirty bomb is a conventional explosive laced with radioactive material that contaminates an area around the blast site with radiation, but is not technically a nuclear weapon.

+++++++++++++++

No strategy to win by the West. Just vilify and fight Putin/Russia forever, and ignore the 10,000 times greater permanent losses to the limited wins and sell the war out of principle. Maybe it will take a nuclear war for brainwashed people to realize it but, maybe not. Then, it will just be used to ramp up the need to fight the madman from Russia.

Let's risk the entire planet and every person living on it over this 1 country, that doesn't need to be risked while completely manufacturing a non existent climate threat to the planet(during a climate optimum on a greening planet) based on DISinformation, anti science, anti environmentalism,  crony capitalism and governmental/political agenda.

Here we are in 2022. The strong beliefs in some of the  most important issues are based on completely made up or misrepresented stuff.

Biden stole the 2020 presidential election.............the most secure in history that proved he won.

The vaccine saving millions of lives..........is killing more people than helping them.

We no longer have to work, applying critical thinking on objectively obtained authentic data/evidence that sometimes tells us things that we don't like.

Just go to your favorite echo chamber to get the news you want to believe in as the media and message gatekeepers collude on narratives based on messages they want people to believe.

It's much easier and best of all, we always hear/read things that we want to be true and have millions of others just like us reinforcing each other.

Captured brains

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/67714/

In 2022, the dead serious, real world, right now threat to the planet in the form of a nuclear war is not nearly as important as the manufactured, theoretical threat from the weather in XX number of years that has been used for over 3 decades and completely failed every year.

Note below, that they took off the original title and date(that I copied below)  to try to hide it.

U.N. Predicts Disaster if Global Warming Not Checked
PETER JAMES SPIELMANN Associated Press June 29, 1989:

https://apnews.com/article/bd45c372caf118ec99964ea547880cd0

UNITED NATIONS (AP) _ A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.

Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of ″eco- refugees,′ ′ threatening political chaos, said Noel Brown, director of the New York office of the U.N. Environment Program, or UNEP.

He said governments have a 10-year window of opportunity to solve the greenhouse effect before it goes beyond human control.

As the warming melts polar icecaps, ocean levels will rise by up to three feet, enough to cover the Maldives and other flat island nations, Brown told The Associated Press in an interview on Wednesday.

Coastal regions will be inundated; one-sixth of Bangladesh could be flooded, displacing a fourth of its 90 million people. A fifth of Egypt’s arable land in the Nile Delta would be flooded, cutting off its food supply, according to a joint UNEP and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency study.

″Ecological refugees will become a major concern, and what’s worse is you may find that people can move to drier ground, but the soils and the natural resources may not support life. Africa doesn’t have to worry about land, but would you want to live in the Sahara?″ he said.

UNEP estimates it would cost the United States at least $100 billion to protect its east coast alone.

Shifting climate patterns would bring back 1930s Dust Bowl conditions to Canadian and U.S. wheatlands, while the Soviet Union could reap bumper crops if it adapts its agriculture in time, according to a study by UNEP and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis.

Excess carbon dioxide is pouring into the atmosphere because of humanity’s use of fossil fuels and burning of rain forests, the study says. The atmosphere is retaining more heat than it radiates, much like a greenhouse.

Why is that?

Because EVERYBODY wants to save the planet! Who could be against "saving the planet'?

1. ABC Nightly news expert just told us that Russia's plan to use a dirty bomb shows us how desperate Russia is because they're losing the war so badly.

2. And if they do it, there will be severe consequences.

1. If this is what happens to Ukraine when they're winning the war, I'd hate to see what happens to them when losing.

2. Severe consequences greater than current severe consequence?  Why are we holding back on more severe consequences if the current imposition of severe consequences isn't working?

The answer, starts with the letter P.

Who actually believes this?

That is, who believes this other than the 1 billion people from the West that believe everything the West says (including that we have a climate crisis that is killing the greening planet and its booming biosphere)?

From the exact  thing that's causing the greening and booming!

‘People are furious’: Jayapal withdraws letter on Ukraine policy amid Democratic anger

 https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/25/politics/pramila-jayapal-ukraine-letter-democratic-backlash/index.html

                CNN         —

A House progressive leader abruptly withdrew a letter pushing the Biden administrationto pursue diplomacy in Russia’s war with Ukraine, an about-face following furious internal backlash from Democrats who felt blindsided by the move just two weeks before the November midterms.

The letter, signed by Jacobs and 29 other Democrats, praised President Joe Biden’s efforts supporting Ukraine while avoiding direct US involvement on the ground – but they suggested a more forceful attempt at bringing the war to an end through diplomacy is necessary to prevent a long and slogging conflict.

“Given the destruction created by this war for Ukraine and the world, as well as the risk of catastrophic escalation, we also believe it is in the interests of Ukraine, the United States, and the world to avoid a prolonged conflict,” the group, led by Jayapal, write in the letter. “For this reason, we urge you to pair the military and economic support the United States has provided to Ukraine with a proactive diplomatic push, redoubling efforts to seek a realistic framework for a ceasefire.”

After Democratic backlash intensified over the letter, Jayapal clarified their position, saying they maintain “unequivocal commitment to supporting Ukraine” and were supportive of the Biden administration’s strategy.

+++++++++++++++

How dare we have democrats using critical, rational thinking that defies the party line. You must stop this immediately and return to unwavering tribal allegiance.......especially before a key election!

One can guess that maybe this was released so that in the event this turns nuclear(and with no sign of an end) this person can say "see, at least I tried to resolve the conflict in a manner that would have avoided this disaster..........don't blame me"

The actual letter is revealing too. It tells us that the propaganda by the West that is all we hear/read......... unquestioned and unwavering support for Ukraine with the objective of WINNING the war at any cost.....is in fact, being seriously questioned by the very party pushing hardest with the ideology of the endless war but before an election, public thoughts like that are not tolerated.

I greatly dislike this far right, conspiracy theory person but her views are worth considering based on rational thinking about a never ending war that is only hurting Americans and most of the world more than what's being gained.

So you'll know. Much of the time, when she makes proclamations like this, my knee jerk reaction is to believe the complete opposite.

Marjorie Taylor Greene: GOP won’t give Ukraine ‘another penny’

What matters more than Marjorie Taylor Greene vowing to cut off aid to Ukraine? Whether her fellow Republicans agree.

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/marjorie-taylor-greene-gop-wont-give-ukraine-another-penny-rcna55649

The radical congresswoman was quite specific about what the public should expect from a GOP-led House, telling attendees, “Under Republicans, not another penny will go to Ukraine.

The comments drew applause from the audience, which was in line with recent polling showing Republican voters turning in large numbers against U.S. support for our Ukrainian allies.

This did not go unnoticed at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, where White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, highlighting the extremist lawmaker’s public comments, wrote on Twitter this morning, “Every Republican should be asked: Do they stand with freedom from Russian aggression, or do they stand with [Greene]?”

What matters in a situation like this isn’t the Georgian’s true beliefs. There’s greater interest in why Greene is making such arguments, but that’s not really the key element, either.

Rather, what matters is whether Greene and her allies will ultimately get their way and successfully reject support for Ukraine in the midst of the war caused by the unprovoked Russian invasion.
