Stocks - Creative Destruction

Since 1970, of the 40.000 stocks issued on the stock exchanges, more than half lost 90% and of those, half went bankrupt.

In the early part of the 20th century, when auto production went crazy, there were 2000 auto companies, of which, only 3 survived.

Brutal, but the fit survived and flourished.

It makes investing in startups an intimidating proposition.

I'm 0 for 5 thus far but have one that hasn't gone public yet that is growing revenues at 100% per year.  (Mezmo)

That ought to put the killing jinx on it.  :)
