the picture below shows sat. images of UK, Belgium, etc, taken in June and July.

The heat clearly turned the countries brown

Too bad that they can't out-source a Monsoon.

Wait a second, I looked more and NASA actually shows Europe turning brown and their pictures are compared with a year ago also.

However, on the pictures of before and after, the "after" pictures look like they have a different, darker looking shade of green for the same green when compared with the first picture.......maybe I am imagining it but the coloring looks shifted slightly between the images.

Let's get the actual data to see whats going on:

As you can see from the maps below, the far Northwest section of Europe IS having a drought with below average rains for the last 30-90-180 days.

So that section of Europe should be browner than last year by quite a bit.

OK,  have looked at the data. From my article earlier, the source states:

“If the globe continues to warm, it’s clear we will continue to see events like this increasing in frequency, severity, and duration,” said Gibson, who recently published a study linking global temperatures to regional heatwaves.

He is trying to link the browning and drought to global warming and the heat wave............and is wrong.

Global drought has been DECREASING and the planet has been greening up the past 40 years.

https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2016/carbon-dioxide-fertilization-greening-earth

"The greening represents an increase in leaves on plants and trees equivalent in area to two times the continental United States."

Huge droughts are in progress over something like 25% of the planet at any one time. They come and go but global warming's most significant effect has been to cause more excessive rain events because the atmosphere can hold so much more moisture.

Picking out a major drought this year and claiming its from global warming/climate change..............while the planet greens up is not being scientifically honest.

But there will be more heat waves....even though the warming effects the coldest places at the coldest times of year the most and low temperatures more than high temperatures.
