Satellite images show scale of the earthquake devastation in Turkey

Rubble from several collapsed tower blocks can be seen in one image of the town Islahiye.

From space, the scale of the devastation wrought by the two massive earthquakes that rocked Turkey and Syria is clear.

Photos taken Tuesday by Maxar Technologies, a U.S. defense contractor headquartered in Colorado, show a bird's-eye view of several Turkish towns before and after the temblors, which have claimed the lives at least 11,000 people.

The stories about this have been moving...no pun intended.

Rescue hopes dwindle as earthquake death toll passes 25,000

As rescue workers continue their round-the-clock search in freezing temperatures, the chances of finding survivors among those trapped in concrete mounds of fallen buildings grows slim.

Sadly, The United Nations never misses an opportunity to spin a natural disaster/tragedy into a pathetic manufactured climate crisis opportunity based on blatant anti science DISinformation and propaganda.

Climate change is triggering more earthquakes. Big Oil's interests are a factor

Unfortunately, it is not just earthquakes. Climate and weather-related disasters have surged five-fold over the past five decades, killing over two million people, with 91% of the casualties in developing countries. And it is only getting worse.

YA THINK THOSE PEOPLE TRYING TO RESCUE, ARE CONCERNED WHETHER THEY'RE TRYING TO SAVE THEIR ENEMY?   DO THEY ASK FOR ID, BEFORE THEY DIG SOMEONE OUT?

LORD, I HOPE NOT!

Those rescuers are hero's, Jean!!

Try to imagine what it's been like for them. Intense physical work to uncover mostly dead bodies. Death everywhere in the pile of rubble. Dead body after dead body.

but every once in a gradually lengthening period.........somebody is found alive. So there's urgency to push as hard as possible in the hope that they might save 1 more person as they continue to find dead people.

The emotions are nothing that you or I have ever experienced in our worst nightmare. And now, the violence is causing them to risk their lives, adding a new horrific element to the nightmare.

When it was safe, this was already the worst job on the planet!

Turkey-Syria earthquake death toll passes 28,000 as rescue hopes dwindle

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-64608535

Unrest in southern Turkey has disrupted rescue efforts following Monday's deadly earthquake, three rescue groups have said.

The death toll in Turkey and Syria from the quake has surpassed 28,000, and hope of finding many more survivors is fading despite some miraculous rescues.

German rescuers and the Austrian army paused search operations on Saturday, citing clashes between unnamed groups.

Security is expected to worsen as food supplies dwindle, one rescuer said.

And nearly 50 people have been arrested for looting, with several guns seized, local media reported.

Turkey's president said he would use emergency powers to punish anyone breaking the law.

An Austrian army spokesperson said early on Saturday that clashes between unidentified groups in the Hatay province had left dozens of personnel from the Austrian Forces Disaster Relief Unit seeking shelter in a base camp with other international organisations.

"There is increasing aggression between factions in Turkey," Lieutenant Colonel Pierre Kugelweis said in a statement. "The chances of saving a life bears no reasonable relation to the safety risk."

'A crane, for God's sake': Inside the struggles of Turkey's earthquake response

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/a-crane

ANTAKYA/ISTANBUL, Feb 13 (Reuters) - Kevser said she could hear her two sons trapped beneath the rubble of their collapsed apartment building in the Turkish city of Antakya but for two days she was unable to find an emergency response leader to order their rescue.

"Everyone's saying they're not in charge. We can't find who's in charge," she said on Tuesday last week, standing on a downtown street where at least a dozen other buildings had collapsed. "I've been begging and begging for just one crane to lift the concrete."

"Time's running out. A crane, for God's sake."

When Reuters returned to the street a day later, neighbors said no more survivors had been pulled from the wreckage of the building.

Many in Turkey say more people could have survived the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the south of the country and neighboring Syria a week ago if the emergency response had been faster and better organized.

Reuters spoke to dozens of residents and overwhelmed first-responders who expressed bewilderment at a lack of water, food, medicine, body bags and cranes in the disaster zone in the days following the quake - leaving hundreds of thousands of people to fend for themselves in the depths of winter.

Suggestion:

Take some of the trillions of dollars feeding the crony capitalism and crony politicians because of a fake climate crisis that's being flushed down the toilet and use it for funding projects that assist people in earth quake zones!!!!

Who Funds the FightAgainstClimate Change?

https://meansandmatters.bankofthewest.com/article/sustainable-living/taking-action/who-funds-the-fight-against-climate-change/

As a global society, we must increase spending to at least $4.13 trillion every year by 20301 to fund an energy transition sufficient to keep the planet below a temperature rise of 1.5 degrees Celsius, according to a 2021 report by environmental think tank Climate Policy Initiative.

People that believe this are 100% wrong based on the authentic science!

But the science doesn't matter in many realms.........or the authentic facts, evidence and data.  In today's world these things are of lesser importance!

It's what ever the gatekeepers, most of them corrupt with no accountability can convince others to believe so that they can enrich themselves and get support for their projects and political agenda.

WOULDN'T YA THINK THERE'D BE MASSIVE ANOUNTS OF PERSONNEL, FOOD, WATER & EQUIPMENT "AT THE READY",  IN AN EARTHQUAKE PRONE AREA?!

THEY COULD ROTATE THE FOOD & WATER!! GIVE IT AWAY & RESTOCK, BEFORE IT EXPIRES. (OH, THAT'D BE A WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!  CAN'T WASTE MONEY, YA KNOW!)
