Rescues In Quake-Hit Turkey, Syria

Rescuers pulled more survivors from beneath collapsed buildings Thursday, but hopes were starting to fade of finding many more people alive over three days after a catastrophic earthquake and series of aftershocks hit Turkey and Syria, killing more than 19,800.

The short answer is yes but not necessarily financially.

I know that in some years of particularly bad wild fires on the west coast, Australia has sent volunteer firefighters to help fight our fires. It works out well actually as our summer (peak fire season) is the middle of Australia's winter.

THE FIRES ARE THE ONLY DISASTER I CAN RECALL THE USA EVER GETTING HELP FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY FOR. 

IS HELP OFFERED, BUT REFUSED?

DID THE USA GET HELPED OUT WHEN 9-11 HAPPENED?

KINDA LIKE ~ DOES THE USA HAVE ANY FRIENDS?!

The USA has friends, but we often like to be seen as the ones to give aid but not receive it. We want our image as a country to be one where we can take care of ourselves but also be one of the first to offer help to others.

That said, here is a wikipedia page about the international response during the 2005 hurricane Katrina disaster, much of the aid that was offered was accepted. Aid came in the form of money, resources, food, medical supplies and personnel:
