In the 2020 presidential election, we had 2 of the arguibly worst candidates running against each other.

The candidate  that won, got elected by NOT being the other person. Both had the worst favorability factor in history with their unfavorable ratings higher than favorable, which is how that NOT the other person dynamic won it.

Since the election, we found out clearly that both of them were/are FAR WORSE than we thought 3 years ago, with almost no positives to offset the continually mounting negatives.

So, with just under 1.5 years to go for the 2024 election, look who the top candidates to run for their party's nomination?

the same ones that are even worse choices now that we know even more about them.

This is powerful evidence that truth, facts, science, ethics, logics and the real world no longer matter today.

Manufactured realities sold to the American public by gate keeping charlatans led by politicians/government, the media and crony capitalists as well as corrupted scientists........using propaganda, disinformation, junk science and false narratives repeated until our brains accept the fake news as our reality. .......from both sides.

Both sides see the other one doing it, while completely buying into their brand of ideological snake oil

our political system and government and justice system and media are damaged far beyond repair because They are actually the gatekeepers hell bent on sustaining the corruption which allows them to thrive like this.

Hey Mike,

You know I love your awesome open-mindedness! You're not a slave to any political party.

Be that as it may, my opinion of the NY Post is not as favorable as yours is because I see it as sort of the Fox News of major newspapers. Why? Because it is owned by News Corp, which was founded by Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch also started Fox (aka "Faux") News. Did you know all of this? Something to keep in mind as they tend to be anti-Biden. I'd say that their reputation is not the best and not like it was several decades back. They border on tabloid.

Thanks much, Larry,

Im extremely aware of the material they cover and manner in which they cover it.

they absolutely have plenty of complete rubbish.

Fox is the exact same way but with higher ratings.

so why do I use them?

it’s like I explained after listening to NPR on my radio most of the 8 hour drive to Detroit on Friday, intertwined with some far right talk shows, one was Shawn Hannity that I heard on the radio for the first time.

I don’t listen or read to find out what to think. These sources are clearly biased in an extreme way to one side Or the other.

its how they make money.
However, I am always very skeptical of everything by every source and never believe anything until I fact check it or they have all their ducks lined up With sources like this.

in the case of Biden, i’ve been covering this for several years now as you can see from the numerous threads I provided With many dozens of posts with authentic facts and evidence that have confirmed almost everything the Post has stated on this topic.

it’s crystal clear the MSM has been blatantly covering this up and colluding with a black out of honest coverage to protect Biden.

on this particular topic, I find the Post to have everything that I vetted with fact checks to be exactly right.

as i suggested a few weeks ago when you made A similar post.

instead of being critical of the source and discrediting the information because of being like most people, who only believe information when it comes from sources they trust, I challenge you to, instead address the points that you think they or I have wrong.

you are NOT like most people. Not even close. You’re one of the most objective people I know.

That’s why I know me challenging you to do that is not a waste of time.

it also gives me an opportunity to see what I might be missing and based on your valued, very objective insight.

Thanks again!

As a side note, when I tried to do a search to find the previous post/thread I was referring to, using WxFollower in the search engine, I get “server error 403 forbidden”

I have no idea why that is But it’s been like that for several months.

for awhile, I was getting that message when I put Hunter Biden and some other words in there for a random search.

you might remember, several months ago that both of us were unable to pull up one of your hurricane Ian threads that had some good info in it And I tried again recently and got the same message.

I have no clue why this is happening.

the tech department will charge me over $100/hour to trouble shoot items like this and and already make $0 per year.

im certainly not going to give away money to post here.

so I’m sorry this is happening with your handle but when I search for my stuff, I use tittles and key words other than my handle.

Hi Larry,

Let me help you out on this because you can't possibly be following the legit facts  if you are bashing the NY Post for exposing the biggest, corrupt influence peddling scheme  by an elected official in US history....to the tune of tens of millions of dollars from Ukraine and China and many other countries with numerous Biden family members.

Do you remember the Hunter Biden laptop 2.5 years ago.

Do you still think it was faked or a conspiracy theory or manufactured by Russia, the story that the MSN, democrats and US justice invented to discredit the NY Post after they broke the story?

Or do you think the NY Post broke a legit story?

The NY Post was even kicked off of Twitter and censored at other places in order to try to bury/cover up this story.

You are totally missing a story that's MUCH bigger than Watergate, which was spying, then lying with an attempted cover up.  The cover up here using our justice department, dems and social media is 10 times worse.

The money amounts are astronomical and the corruption involved foreign adversaries that were paying the Biden's huge bucks.

I am NOT exaggerating. This is for real........actually many more than 10 times worse than Watergate.

Read my numerous threads and posts if you want to be informed on this. Many are from independent sources that are not Fox or the NY Post.

Is the NY Post anti Biden?

Is Fox news anti Biden?

Absolutely.  In a huge way.

Does that mean that Joe Biden and family can do whatever they want because the dems, media and justice department have been completely covering this up?

Anybody that tries to hold him/them accountable is biased and political so we can't believe anything from them.......including the truth? Including rock solid facts and crystal clear evidence?

What is your source for honest information about this story?

Fox and the NY Post are in the business of bashing Biden all the time, often for really dumb stuff. So I understand the skepticism. When a source is like that, they make it tough to know when they have a breaking story that is authentic because it resembles much of their other bs stuff.

How's a person to know when they are telling the truth and when its more bs?

Trust me on this one, Larry. They just hit several consecutive grand slams.

Maybe you don't have the time to read all the evidence that I provided previously. That's perfectly fine. If not, then you'll either have to trust me or believe sources that have been lying their arses off to cover this up. I welcome any questions, challenges and comments on this.

The stories below are just a minuscule example of the covering up dynamic which, like Watergate involved a crime that got MUCH worse by the covering up. The collusion and extent this time, however is mind boggling.

It demonstrates the control these information gatekeepers have(the so called Deep State) over the mainstream messages which completely dominate thinking in America.

As you must know, I don't buy into conspiracy theories..........I bust them. That's a big part of why I'm here!

since you are challenging me on this story being legit, questioning a source I would very much appreciate you taking a few minutes to at least scroll thru the posts at the threads that I generously provided several times now and tell me what you think that I have wrong or specific comments about the actual facts and indisputable evidence that should be the basis for objective discernment.

thanks

im looking forward to hearing back from you at this thread ASAP.

Hey Mike,

I'm not challenging the stories, themselves, because I'm not even reading them for the most part. I'm not reading many of them because of a combination of two things: my spare time (outside of sleep time, which is often not long enough) is usually quite limited due to being on call 24/7 as a caregiver for my live-in bro (who needs even more of my time than before) and I know that the NY Post is an unreliable source. So, being that I tend to avoid reading most of the unreliable sourced stories in my limited time, I usually don't read NY Post articles. If you were to cite any negative articles about Biden from a more reliable source like AP or CNBC or Reuters and especially from sources like ABC/CBS/CNN/NBC, which admittedly rarely put out negative articles about Joe Biden with regard to Hunter, etc., I'd be much more likely to spend my limited spare time reading them just as would be the case if they had positive articles about Trump. I spend much more of my spare time following, analyzing, and posting about weather, which is a much greater love than discussing politics.

I'm just challenging the main source, the NY Post, because of its unreliability to be an objective and factual source. When I read this and other threads, I see NY Post quite often. It is like seeing Fox News quite often. You cite the NY Post so often when even you recognize that it puts out a lot of garbage. I know that's because the more reliable sources aren't putting this stuff out.

I'm all open to the possibility that Joe Biden was a crook with regard to taking advantage of his VP position to help his family financially. Some of this definitely smells fishy. And as I've said, I'm open to an investigation into Joe that is done fairly and as objectively as possible with limited politically based bias. I realize that the MSM due to bias usually shies away from this because the last thing they want to do is to help the horrible evil Trump, the worst POTUS ever by a wide margin in this regard imho. And most libs are the same way due to this and confirmation bias. So, I don't see an easy solution right now into investigating Biden's influence while VP.

Thanks extremely much, Larry!

You're the best and sorry for forcing a bit of a confrontation on you to address this properly but you just caused a light to shine even brighter in my head.

Your honest answer helps with an understanding of the dynamics for me.

As I evaluate the compelling, objective facts and evidence here and also in realms like the fake climate crisis and wonder what the matter is with people not seeing what is so obvious to anybody with a few objective brain cells who would clearly see the exact same things looking on their own.

Especially really smart and objective people like WxFollower. ......which is why I  wanted to get your very credible response after you looked at the relevant facts and not just bashing the source stating it.

You, like most smart people just don't have the time in your busy lives to be spent on less productive endeavors which take away from higher quality of life activities that are paying direct dividends to you and your love ones.

So you/we let our designated experts do that for you/us. The media and government report on these topics for a living. We can save hours of time by letting them do the investigating and just reading their reports/interpretations.

That, my friend is what makes the world go round in 2023.

People going to their favorite, trusted sources that tell them the news with the interpretations included which individuals have no time to fact check.

Avoiding known biased sources that spin it one way every time.

But you might remember this quote that you liked so much:

Mike said:

Neither political party has a franchise on the truth.

If you believe one party all the time......................you will believe in lies some of the time.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Since Mike can't pick his own post as a post of the week, I'll do it for him as this surely is worthy. There's no reason why a moderator who posts frequently and contributes so much to this forum shouldn't be worthy of this distinct honor from time to time. So, it is my honor to name this a co-post of the week. I say co-post because another deserving post has already been given that honor.

+++++++++++++++++++++

This is exactly why I do the exact opposite and during the day on my radio listen to sources like very liberal NPR(despite their obsession over the fake climate crisis-which aggravates me to listen to.........intentionally and at night listen to the complete opposite side....Fox/NY Post...despite their complete hogwash related to anything Trump/Jan 6 and Covid vaccines which really aggravates me.

That way of following the news from both sides is paying handsome discernment dividends right now on this topic. Because right now, one side has been completely lying about the Biden family corruption, related to the Hunter laptop scandal and the other party/side is telling the truth.

Completely blacking out the news about the compelling facts and evidence on one side from the get go to protect the Biden family.

I already had some of this stuff from my own searches but if a person wants the authentic truth on this historic US scandal that's much worse than Watergate, they have to go to the NY Post and Fox.

It's because I DO find the time to look at everything from both sides and apply the scientific method when fact checking the evidence.

Thanks again for the wonderful, sincere  and prompt response.

I agree with you on your final assessment.

So, I don't see an easy solution right now into investigating Biden's influence while VP.

The sources understand the dynamic above because they have created it and are constantly, intentionally exploiting it (both sides) and reinforcing it for their self serving interests/agenda......using the powerful technologies of communication in this age.

Using Americans that are the relentless targets..........and victims.

What this will boil down to is that one side will have the truth, represented by authentic facts, evidence supported by very extensive documentation.

The other side will have manufactured realities to offset that with convincing false narratives claiming another conspiracy theory, it being purely political, painting Biden as a victim not the criminal and attacking the sources that have the truth using DISinformation/propaganda 101 which paves the road to success in this pathetic age of fraudulent political battles.

Judge orders Hunter Biden to appear in court for baby mama paternity case

https://nypost.com/2023/04/25/hunter-biden-to-appear-in-arkansas-court-for-paternity-case/

This is independent of the rest of this stuff. However, to me, its another powerful example of the character of Hunter Biden.

One side wants to characterize Hunter as this nice guy that just had a serious drug problem but has completely reformed. Now  being targeted by the far right with conspiracy theories to destroy his father, the democratic president, the victim of these attacks.

A person with flaws that hurt themselves and others.....that  sincerely reforms has a mentality that compels them to make restitution to the people that they hurt when opportunities to take that option are afforded to them.

If you are familiar with this case, you know that Hunter has fought tooth and nail against acknowledging an affair with the lady, then that the child is his, then paying child support.

Instead of being a responsible parent for bringing a child into the world, not even by being a present father but financial responsibility that is not only ethical but legal........he's spent much more money to pay his attorneys to fight AGAINST supporting this child any way he can then he has on financially supporting the child.

To this day.

These are not the actions of a reformed man.

Once a dirt bag............not always a dirt bag and sometimes a reformed person that turns their life around and helps other people.

But not in this instance.

It apparently doesn't even occur to him or his advisors to do the right thing here which would cause people like me to see him differently.

They aren't about doing the right thing.

I'm actually shocked that they haven't realized that him going to Arkansas to have regular visits to see his daughter and agreeing to support her would soften the hearts of people like me that see the real world and shrug off the manufactured realities.

I guess that he still doesn't have that in him right now. It's possible and they could do it to get sympathy(that would include mine).

Hunter is also paying top dollar to attorneys to fight the mom and keep his baby girl from having the last name Biden.

In my 27:years coaching chess for 4,100 students and coaching youth soccer, basketball and baseball,  and being a cub/Boy Scout leader, I’ve seen thousands of wonderful parents…..which is almost all of them!

in the tiny minority, however are a few dozen that were selfish people who care‘d most about themselves.

there can be challenging situations for all sorts of reasons And dynamics That cause this to happen.

regardless, all children need the support and love of adults growing up to have the best chance for success.

in most of those situations, the grandparents came to the rescue and filled in to rescue the children Who were neglected by their own grown children…..which is how I get to know them.
I consider these grandparents to be real hero’s, raising a 2nd generation when they should be relaxing and easing into retirement after spending a couple of decades raising kids and working,

We’ve seen how joe Biden will risk everything for his son, Hunter, even the security and integrity of the United Srates.

nobody can question Joes devotion and loyalty to his family.

this is the type of person that steps in when their own adult child brings a grandchild into the world and grossly neglects them.

but joe and Jill Biden have been completely absent regarding Hunters neglect of their grand daughter.

other than, possibly helping with advice on how to try to shut this child out of the Biden family because, thru no fault of her own, the Biden’s see this beautiful little girl as a mistake, tarnishing the valuable Biden name.

that extremely valuable name is what made millions for the Biden’s from foreign countries, influence peddling when Joe was VP.

now, they fight tenaciously to keep an innocent little girl that also  has Biden DNA from taking the Biden name to reap legit potential name benefits for her education and career.

What do you think of people like the Biden’s that practice ethics and treat other REAL human beings/children like this, selectively based on self serving interests?

am I trying to make the Biden’s look bad?

Yes but I‘m just doing the job of the media  which covers up for the Bidens and using authentically Interpreted facts to discern the truth.

The Biden’s  looking bad totally comes from the authentic truth.

Op-Ed: Whistleblower Against Biden Family Corruption Arrested - Then He Disappeared (westernjournal.com)

According to the New York Post, Luft’s attorney stated that his client “learned explosive information that someone was selling sealed U.S. law enforcement information to Chinese individuals.” More specifically, the attorney claimed that Ye confided to Luft that Hunter Biden had an informant in the FBI “or formerly of the bureau, extremely well-placed, who they paid lots of money to [provide] sealed law enforcement information.” This FBI mole was apparently called “One-Eye.”

Luft’s lawyer further stated, “The DOJ had this information in March 2019 and did nothing. Congress has the Biden bank records but it doesn’t know the reason for the payments. Now it does. The information that the whistleblower — Dr. Luft — gave the DOJ four years ago is the missing link for the reason behind the China-Biden money transfers. Clearly, this is explosive stuff.”

Luft’s legal team has been in contact with House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, who is spearheading the investigations into the Biden family dealings and alleged corruption.

After news got out of Luft’s arrest, Comer commented, “This was the straw that broke the camel’s back. … We’ve had three people that were involved in the Hunter Biden shady business schemes that have communicated with my committee staff this week. … I think that people see the heavy-handedness of the Bidens. Either you’re getting picked up by the DOJ or you’re getting a letter from Hunter Biden’s personal attorney trying to intimidate you.”

Another lawyer for Luft declared, “[The arrest] would be a good way to shut [Luft] up … because he knows a lot of information on Hunter. … Gal’s testimony, if [he is allowed to testify,] will bury Hunter Biden. Even more so, his testimony will shift the attention toward the president himself.”

Hunter Biden must answer questions on financial dealings, judge rules in child support case

Biden appeared in court Monday for a paternity case over the child he had with Lunden Roberts in 2018. He has asked the court to reduce his child support payments to Roberts for their 4-year-old daughter.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/05/02/hunter-biden-paternity-case-finances/70173979007/

metmike: Not mentioned in all this is the amount the Hunter has apparently already paid for child support.

Hunter Biden's lawyers say he has already paid $750,000 in child support as he fights to reduce payments

https://www.businessinsider.com/hunter-biden-has-already-paid-child-support-lawyer-2023-5

Abbe Lowell, Hunter Biden's attorney, said in the Independence County courthouse in Batesville that Biden had been paying $20,000 a month to support the youngster, Navy Joan, since a DNA test in 2019 confirmed he's the girl's biological father, the Post reported.

Both Biden, 53, and Roberts, 32, were in the courtroom for the roughly two-hour hearing.

+++++++++++++

metmike: The $20,000/month was obviously based on Hunter's enormous wealth, which is the biggest determinant the court uses based on authentic income documents. However, that seems insanely high for this family and basically a 1 night stand.

Here's more definitive information:

https://supportpay.com/how-much-is-child-support/

if your yearly salary is $15,000 and you have one child, you would be paying 17% of your income per year in child support–this comes out monthly to $212.50 or annually as $2,550.

Average Child Support Order

We have seen according to the 2010 Census Bureau Reports, the average monthly child support payment is $430. Again, this is just an average of the monthly amount of child support payments across the United States and should only be used as an estimate. Your situation is unique, and the amount the court determines will depend on your circumstances and financial resources.

metmike: For the monthly payment to be 20,000, that means 240,000/year which is 1.7% of around 1.4 million, which would be Hunter's documented income based on the standards above.

This tells us a couple of things, including that legal court documents showed Hunter raking in 1.4 million/year from doing something. What profession was Hunter in that made that sort of money? Why wouldn't he continue in that very profitable  and rewarding profession if it was legit, especially since he's an experienced veteran at it?

Answer: This income was generated from influence peddling using Joe Biden's name. He can't continue to do that because the Biden's got busted and are being investigated. So his income has dried up............and he can no longer afford the $20,000/month.  I agree totally that his child support payments should be reduced because his massive corrupt money source has been cut off.

During the Watergate era of justice, corruption was held accountable. In this age, the justice department covers it up for favored entities. That and the effectiveness of pushing manufactured realities, fake news, DISinformation and other schemes to control the thinking of most Americans and there may never be accountability here.

This is REALLY bad!

More than 10 times worse than Watergate and Nixon, as I've been saying, based on the facts.

The  MSM, dems and justice department have been covering most of this up and continually referring to it as a right wing conspiracy theory. The saddest part about that is the JUSTICE DEPARTMENT covering it up.

I'm here to  BUST conspiracy theories NOT post them!!!!

Again, go to the half dozen previous threads for my solid evidence on this the past several years. This has been out there for years for those with eyes to see. The obvious cover ups have prevented it from being exposed............until now.

I don't care that the NY Post is in fact a tabloid publication. Facts are facts and truth is truth. They've been leading the way with authentic facts and truth on this.

There are others but they've been the best source. They broke the lap top story in 2020(and 50 justice department officials signed a statement lying by stating it looked like Russian disinformation and the Post was pushing a conspiracy theory).

So they've been proven correct about almost everything and the others have just lied and covered up the entire time.

I think there's a great chance that the justice department does the same thing that they did with the investigation of the Mueller investigation.............destroy the evidence.

At Least 27 Phones from Special Counsel’s Office Were Wiped before DOJ Inspector General Could Review Them

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/at-least-27-phones-from-special-counsels-office-were-wiped-before-doj-inspector-general-could-review-them/

Corrupt people like this in the DOJ/Intel impose their will  because they can control all the dynamics and have no accountability. They lie and cheat with impunity:

It’s been two years since 51 intelligence agents interfered with an election — they still won’t apologize

Stay silent or double down: What Hunter Biden intel letter signees are doing now

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/defense-national-security/stay-silent-or-double-down-what-hunter-biden-intel-letter-signees-are-doing-now

Again, this is 10+ times bigger/worse than Watergate.

What Biden did seems to be much worse by far but even bigger is the fact that our justice/Intel department is blatantly corrupted and will lie about whatever they need to in order to influence politics.

They will vilify the innocent they don't like and cover up for the guilty that they favor.

Think about that fraudulent letter above. Those were not just a few guys in the organization but 51, many top dogs that have tremendous power.

How can our country have functional ethics enforcement when the top law enforcers are rotten to the core?

Watergate was about a break in that Nixon and company tried to cover up.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watergate_scandal

This is so much, much worse with many more people involved. It's one thing for people in one party to do something to the other party then try to cover it up like the Nixon crew did.

The Biden crimes are in a league of their own. The entities that were supposed to identify, investigate and prosecute crimes is the one using that power to sabotage the ability of the US to have a fair/credible justice system that works.

With Nixon, the justice system worked to hold him accountable for his crimes.

With Biden, the justice system is not only broken by not holding him accountable but it intentionally took the side of the criminal and colluded with him by creating intentionally fake evidence, like the letter to enable his criminal behavior.

The justice department is knowingly on the side of the criminal!

In thinking about this more.

It doesn’t  seem very likely that the entity that controls the evidence and has been hiding it/covering it up…..will suddenly hand over evidence to convict itself.

Bracing for impact: Biden world preps for Hunter Biden fallout

Biden aides are more worried about the personal toll it will take on the president as a father.

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/05/06/bracing-for-impact-biden-world-preps-for-hunter-biden-fallout-00095636

There is a sense among Biden allies that he’ll face some blowback either way. If Hunter Biden is charged with a crime, Trump and Republicans will try to link his behavior to his father’s conduct and fitness for office. And if charges are not brought, Republicans have telegraphed that they will claim that the Department of Justice was biased and that Attorney General Merrick Garland, a Biden appointee, rigged the decision.

++++++++++++++

Let's use some common sense here.

Hunter Biden was kicked out of the military, when VP,  Joe Biden was in charge of fighting corruption in Ukraine, including controlling the billions in US aid to Ukraine.

What are the chances, that independent of his fathers connections to corruption in Ukraine, that Hunter suddenly got appointed as a board member of a corrupt natural gas firm in Ukraine, making 83 K/month in an industry that he had 0 experience in?

Washington Post:  Sep 28, 2019 — "Biden campaign officials said Joe Biden learned of Hunter's appointment to Burisma's board of directors only from media reports."

The chances of it happening the way that Joe Biden insists are impossible!

We can know this with absolute certainty and use it to help provide authentic discernment when it comes to countless other very damning facts that line up the same way based on authentic evidence but are not quite as mind bobbling definitive using rational thinking. They can't be refuted with blatant lies and 0 evidence to debunk any of this REAL evidence.

Having 51 top intel agency officials tell a lie to cover it up, doesn't make any of it less true.  In fact, that makes the cover up 10 times worse than the crimes and MORE THAN 10 times worse than Watergate!

Watergate =Nixon resignation

Biden corruption =promotion to president

The difference in the outcomes of these 2 so far,  is a function of today's US intelligence community/justice department and media covering up crimes instead of holding their favored political figures accountable for behavior/crimes.

Please note that unqualified Hunter being hired at Burisma was a blatant example of corrupt nepotism using US tax dollars but just the tip of the iceberg.

This and the other gifts that the Biden's received from influence peddling by VP, Joe Biden were egregious ethics violations, some clearly appear to be crimes.

Joe Biden was Vice President at the time but these are ethics rules set by the House to guide members of Congress.

House Committee on Ethics

https://ethics.house.gov/outside-employment-income/laws-rules-and-standards-conduct

Prohibition Against Use of One’s Position With the House for Personal Gain

It is fundamental that a Member, officer, or employee of the House may not use his or her official position for personal gain, including any gain that would accrue to the individual in the form of compensation for outside employment activities.  A key provision of the House Code of Official Conduct (House Rule 23, cl. 3) provides that a House Member, officer, or employee may not receive compensation and may not permit compensation to accrue to his beneficial interest from any source, the receipt of which would occur by virtue of influence improperly exerted from his position in Congress.

Nepotism

https://ethics.house.gov/staff-rights-and-duties/nepotism

Federal law, at 5 U.S.C. § 3110, generally prohibits a federal official, including a Member of Congress, from appointing, promoting, or recommending for appointment or promotion any “relative” of the official to any agency or department over which the official exercises authority or control.  The statute defines a relative, for these purposes, as "an individual who is related to the public official as father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, half brother, or half sister."

2018 Biden Bragged About Getting Ukrainian Prosecutor Fired"
-------------------------------

Mike,

Shokin wasn't fired because he was investigating Burisma as there was no evidence he was even investigating them. He was fired because he was corrupt and not doing his job of investigating corruption in general. This view was held by a number of countries:

"But the U.S. was not alone in pressuring Ukraine to fire Shokin.

In February 2016, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde threatened to withhold $40 billion unless Ukraine undertook “a substantial new effort” to fight corruption after the country’s economic minister and his team resigned to protest government corruption. That same month, a “reform-minded deputy prosecutor resigned, complaining that his efforts to address government corruption had been consistently stymied by his own prosecutor general, Viktor Shokin,” according to a Jan. 3, 2017, Congressional Research Services report.

Shokin served as prosecutor general under Viktor Yanukovych, the former president of Ukraine who fled to Russia after he was removed from power in 2014 and was later found guilty of treason. Shokin remained in power after Yanukovych’s ouster, but he failed “to indict any major figures from the Yanukovych administration for corruption,” according to testimonyJohn E. Herbst, a former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine under President George W. Bush, gave in March 2016 to a subcommittee of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. "

"...there is no evidence that Hunter Biden was ever under investigation or that his father pressured Ukraine to fire Shokin on his behalf."

Mike,

"There’s a strong case that Hunter Biden’s position with the company had nothing to do with Biden’s position on Shokin’s ouster. That’s because Western leaders and institutions were largely united in seeking Shokin’s removal, arguing that he was not pursuing corruption cases aggressively.

For instance, in early 2016, International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde said that "it’s hard to see how the I.M.F.-supported program can continue" unless corruption prosecutions accelerate."

"The viral image said that when Hunter Biden was serving as "a director to Ukraine’s largest private gas producer," his father "threatened to withhold $1 BILLION in U.S. aid to Ukraine if they didn’t fire a prosecutor looking into" the gas company.

The image gets individual pieces of this assertion right -- Hunter Biden was a director of the company, and Joe Biden did leverage U.S. aid to fire a prosecutor. But it overreaches by assuming that Joe Biden acted to protect the company his son was affiliated with. In reality, there was widespread agreement in the West that the existing prosecutor had to go, and it’s not clear that the company would have benefited from his ouster anyway, given evidence that its cases had long been dormant."

Thanks, Larry.

Glad that you brought that up again.

Biden defenders claim that Shokin was corrupt and others wanted him removed too and that Biden didn't remove him because he was investigating Burisma, which is what the right insists.

That has never mattered to me, either way.

My contention has always been based on something that Joe tells us that's FAR worse than him getting 1 guy fired to stop this one guy supposedly investigating a company he wants protected.

Let's play the video again, only this time realizing that it's  Joe Biden bragging about how he's calling the shots in the country of Ukraine.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7kF_Nd5DAQ

This is not just one guy or one investigation. He is bragging that he controlled the US purse and was using it to tell people in Ukraine what to do.........and they bowed to his commands.  Within hours, they did exactly what he told them,  not asked them but DEMANDED they do to get a billion tax pay dollars.

His ego and penchant for causing him to brag and impulsively say things that he later regrets bites him here.

He clearly used this control as the VP to have a position created for Hunter. This went on into numerous other realms of influence peddling, even outside of Ukraine. No need to keep repeating the indisputable evidence there.

He would apply the same control using similar connections/strategies with Zelensky....who was negotiating with Putin for peace, then suddenly told Putin to shove it,  immediately after Biden was elected.

It's all right here.

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/94338/#94447

There are some reasons for why people don't accept this fact. 2 of them.

1. Most have no idea because its never been in the media/news

2. Of the minority that do, many  don't want to believe it.

I will assume that everybody reading here, that still doesn't  believe this, belongs in category 2.

I'm all eyes and ears for a legit. alternative explanation that I've searched everywhere for.

Larry,

You're one of the smartest, objective people that I know(seriously). Maybe you have it?

This isn't going away. It's the real deal and 10+ times worse than Watergate. People in this country have been led to believe all sorts of crazy manufactured realities. It's conceivable that the MSM, that still refuses to acknowledge the entire truth will continue to collude with their alternative reality version and people will continue to go to those sources that tell them what they want to hear. ........and the justice department will keep covering it up and destroy the evidence showing their role and they will all say "see, we told you it was just a right wing conspiracy theory!"

Media’s long con to bury Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal

https://nypost.com/2023/05/05/medias-long-con-to-bury-hunter-bidens-laptop-scandal/

It's MUCH bigger than that. If Biden had been held accountable in timely fashion, years ago, his power over Ukraine would have been take away!

Hundreds of thousands might still be alive. 8 million less people not displaced from their homeland. Ukraine might not be decimated. Zelensky might still be negotiating peace with Russia or there might actually be peace, fulfilling his campaign promise to get elected to the people that he betrayed before Biden got to him in 2021.

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/94338/#94447

https://www.rferl.org/a/zelenskiys-first-year-he-promised-sweeping-changes-how-s-he-doing-/30576329.html

Before President Biden:

"In the anniversary video, Zelenskiy says he is "sure that we will put an end to this war during my presidential term" and that if his current tactics don't yield results, he will change them."

Seriously, I  actually don't enjoy repeating this but it's 10+ times bigger than Watergate and the biggest political scandal of all time revolving around Biden's corruption.

Trump did NOT support/want a war with Russia.

Biden DID WANT a war with Russia..........so we got the war with Russia under President Biden. Take away all the deceptive war propaganda and it's crystal clear. Looks who's providing most of the support.

 https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/94338/

++++++++++++++++++++

Here's another critical thinking question:

Why didn't Putin invade when Trump was president?

It seems obvious that Trump would not have pushed for 115 billion to Ukraine to fight a war to defeat Russia on the battlefield, no matter what it takes. Trump and Putin got along. Trump was more likely to look the other way more than going gung ho to defeat Russia.

Instead, Putin invaded when Biden was president. That is in complete contradiction to what makes sense for Russia/Putin if they wanted to gain control of Ukraine.

The reason is that Putin wasn't doing it at the best time for him. It happened when Biden made it happen BECAUSE BIDEN WANTS UKRAINE IN NATO. this is what Putin is most against. Biden took office and resumed where he left off as VP. Made Zelensky his puppet and promised him everything to tell Putin to shove it and no more negotiations. And Biden has been living up to his promise.

In the absence of negotiations and Putin insisting he will invade if Zelensky keeps insisting that Ukraine will be a NATO country.......he warned a bunch of times, then invaded and Zelensky has continued to bleed the US of billions to fight Bidens/military industrial complex war To destroy Russia.

It isn't just defenders. It is backed up by evidence as I posted. The MAGA wing and much of the GOP in general is not reality based. Since the Trump admin much of the GOP has become fake news based and pushes paranoia based hate conspiracy theory batshit. They are no longer the GOP of sane folks like Bob Dole, GHWB, and Reagan.

It kind of reminds me of kayfabe.

Asa Hutchinson is one of the exceptions.

I'm not at all saying the Dems as a whole don't lie. And I don't like a good portion of their policies and way of thinking. They're overall way too much into identity based politics and are largely to the left of my moderate self. But to me they're at least relatively sane and aren't pushing conspiracy theory bullshit.

Your response was to tell me that you were too busy to read THOSE threads.

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/94709/#94734

++++++++++++++++

I totally accepted that:

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/94709/#94737

++++++++++++

However, this time that doesn't hold water. You couldn't have been too busy to read the next line that made the critical point in my response to you.

That has never mattered to me, either way.

You left it out intentionally, then went into a post that, instead of claiming that you can't believe it because it's coming from the NY Post, this time, that you can't believe it because it's coming from MEGA.

You clearly have decided that this is not true and are just looking for reasons to justify that belief with excuses to ignore MY facts. Not NY Post facts or MEGA facts. You have not addressed one metmike fact in this thread or elsewhere regarding this topic even after I've posted the threads to them numerous times.  I discussed that smart, busy people do this all the time and its what giving all of our power away to sources that know we are too busy to actually fact check and will believe anything they say if it's what we want to hear. You are doing exactly like what you correctly identify  MEGA people doing so often...... but only aligning based on what YOU want to believe.

++++++++++++++++++++

This is very typical human behavior. Let me use this also to provide a lesson.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias

Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms or supports one's prior beliefs or values.[1] People display this bias when they select information that supports their views, ignoring contrary information, or when they interpret ambiguous evidence as supporting their existing attitudes. The effect is strongest for desired outcomes, for emotionally charged issues, and for deeply entrenched beliefs. Confirmation bias cannot be eliminated, but it can be managed, for example, by education and training in critical thinking skills.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belief_perseverance

Belief perseverance (also known as conceptual conservatism[1]) is maintaining a belief despite new information that firmly contradicts it.[2] Such beliefs may even be strengthened when others attempt to present evidence debunking them, a phenomenon known as the backfire effect (compare boomerang effect).[3] For example, in a 2014 article in The Atlantic, journalist Cari Romm describes a study involving vaccination hesitancy. In the study, the subjects expressed their concerns of the side effects of flu shots. After being told that the vaccination was completely safe, they became even less eager to accept them. This new knowledge pushed them to distrust the vaccine even more, reinforcing the idea that they already had before

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motivated_reasoning

Motivated reasoning is a cognitive and social response in which individuals actively, consciously or unconsciously, allow motivational and emotional (affective) biases to affect how new information is perceived. Individuals tend to favor evidence that coincides with their current beliefs and reject new information that contradicts them, despite contrary evidence.

Motivated reasoning is similar to and overlaps with confirmation bias. Both favor evidence supporting one's beliefs, at the same time dismissing contradictory evidence. However, confirmation bias is mainly an unconscious (innate) cognitive bias. In contrast, motivated reasoning (motivational bias) is an active process, unconscious or conscious, by which one's emotions control the evidence supported or dismissed. For confirmation bias, the evidence or arguments can be logical as well as emotional.

Motivated reasoning can be classified into two categories: 1) Accuracy-oriented (non-directional), in which the motive is to arrive at an accurate conclusion, irrespective of the individual's beliefs, and 2) goal or directional-oriented, in which the motive is to arrive at a particular directional conclusion. Politically motivated reasoning, in particular, is strongly directional, being directed toward supporting individual conservative or liberal (progressive) beliefs.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attribution_bias

In psychology, an attribution bias or attributional bias is a cognitive bias that refers to the systematic errors made when people evaluate or try to find reasons for their own and others' behaviors.[1][2][3] People constantly make attributions—judgements and assumptions about why people behave in certain ways. However, attributions do not always accurately reflect reality. Rather than operating as objective perceivers, people are prone to perceptual errors that lead to biased interpretations of their social world.[4][5] Attribution biases are present in everyday life. For example, when a driver cuts someone off, the person who has been cut off is often more likely to attribute blame to the reckless driver's inherent personality traits (e.g., "That driver is rude and incompetent") rather than situational circumstances (e.g., "That driver may have been late to work and was not paying attention"). Additionally, there are many different types of attribution biases, such as the ultimate attribution error, fundamental attribution error, actor-observer bias, and hostile attribution bias. Each of these biases describes a specific tendency that people exhibit when reasoning about the cause of different behaviors.

Since the early work, researchers have continued to examine how and why people exhibit biased interpretations of social information.[2][6] Many different types of attribution biases have been identified, and more recent psychological research on these biases has examined how attribution biases can subsequently affect emotions and behavior

+++++++++++++

Larry,

I've complimented you countless times here for being objective and using facts instead of emotions.......the scientific method to discern your opinions.

However, on this topic, you are using the ANTI scientific method by completely ignoring ALL of the facts (too busy) and instead, clinging to what you want to believe. Justifying it using the mentality that I showed. Again, I show the facts and provide the explanation for that too.

This can easily be fixed.  Read the actual facts provided multiple times and address those instead of bashing sources you don't like that have that opinion and claiming that the opinion must be bogus without ever sincerely considering the facts that I've generously shared here.

There are an incredible number of cognitive biases.

Here are a few more below, that relate to this thread,  in addition to the ones on the last page:

*Objectivity illusion, the phenomena where people tend to believe that they are more objective and unbiased than others. This bias can apply to itself - where people are able to see when others are affected by the objectivity illusion, but unable to see it in themselves. See also bias blind spot.

*Agent detection bias, the inclination to presume the purposeful intervention of a sentient or intelligent agent.

*Stereotyping, expecting a member of a group to have certain characteristics without having actual information about that individual.

Attribute substitutionOccurs when a judgment has to be made (of a target attribute) that is computationally complex, and instead a more easily calculated heuristic attribute is substituted. This substitution is thought of as taking place in the automatic intuitive judgment system, rather than the more self-aware reflective system.
  • Ostrich effectIgnoring an obvious negative situation.
Outcome biasThe tendency to judge a decision by its eventual outcome instead of the quality of the decision at the time it was made.
Unconscious bias or implicit biasThe underlying attitudes and stereotypes that people unconsciously attribute to another person or group of people that affect how they understand and engage with them. Many researchers suggest that unconscious bias occurs automatically as the brain makes quick judgments based on past experiences and background
Systematic biasJudgement that arises when targets of differentiating judgement become subject to effects of regression that are not equivalent.[117]
    • Authority bias, the tendency to attribute greater accuracy to the opinion of an authority figure (unrelated to its content) and be more influenced by that opinion.[123]
    • Cheerleader effect, the tendency for people to appear more attractive in a group than in isolation.[124]
    • Halo effect, the tendency for a person's positive or negative traits to "spill over" from one personality area to another in others' perceptions of them

  • Belief bias, an effect where someone's evaluation of the logical strength of an argument is biased by the believability of the conclusion.[86]
  • Illusory truth effect, the tendency to believe that a statement is true if it is easier to process, or if it has been stated multiple times, regardless of its actual veracity. These are specific cases of truthiness.
  • Subjective validation, where statements are perceived as true if a subject's belief demands it to be true. Also assigns perceived connections between coincidences.
  • Hot-cold empathy gap, the tendency to underestimate the influence of visceral drives on one's attitudes, preferences, and behaviors.[77]
  • Illusion of explanatory depth, the tendency to believe that one understands a topic much better than one actually does.[81][82] The effect is strongest for explanatory knowledge, whereas people tend to be better at self-assessments for procedural, narrative, or factual knowledge
  • Contrast effect, the enhancement or reduction of a certain stimulus's perception when compared with a recently observed, contrasting object.[57]
  • Decoy effect, where preferences for either option A or B change in favor of option B when option C is presented, which is completely dominated by option B (inferior in all respects) and partially dominated by option A.[58]
  • Default effect, the tendency to favor the default option when given a choice between several options
  • Belief bias, an effect where someone's evaluation of the logical strength of an argument is biased by the believability of the conclusion.[86]
  • These are specific cases of truthiness.

*Base rate fallacy or base rate neglect, the tendency to ignore general information and focus on information only pertaining to the specific case, even when the general information is more important

*Common source bias, the tendency to combine or compare research studies from the same source, or from sources that use the same methodologies or data

  • Backfire effect, a tendency to react to disconfirming evidence by strengthening one's previous beliefs.[32]
  • Congruence bias, the tendency to test hypotheses exclusively through direct testing, instead of testing possible alternative hypotheses.[12]
  • Experimenter's or expectation bias, the tendency for experimenters to believe, certify, and publish data that agree with their expectations for the outcome of an experiment, and to disbelieve, discard, or downgrade the corresponding weightings for data that appear to conflict with those expectations.[33]
  • Observer-expectancy effect, when a researcher expects a given result and therefore unconsciously manipulates an experiment or misinterprets data in order to find it (see also subject-expectancy effect).
  • Selective perception, the tendency for expectations to affect perception.
  • Semmelweis reflex, the tendency to reject new evidence that contradicts a paradigm.
  • System justification, the tendency to defend and bolster the status quo. Existing social, economic, and political arrangements tend to be preferred, and alternatives disparaged, sometimes even at the expense of individual and collective self-interest.

Whew! I stopped around half way thru but pointed out 2 dozen biases that are being used to control our thinking in 2023.

America is in an extreme crisis right now and it's not from a fake climate crisis........actually the BELIEF that there is a climate crisis IS THE QUINTESSENTIAL EXAMPLE OF THE REAL CRISIS!

Gatekeepers of information controlling what we think. It's already past the point of no return. All I can do is show it here and the bias of those that don't want to believe it.......is why its past the point of no return.

In echo chambers and other places, not only are they NOT exposing it but they are imposing and reinforcing it.

Artificial intelligence will just amplify the brainwashing crisis even more.  People no longer fact check things that they don't want to believe, even smart guys like Larry tht have busy lives.

We rely on the sources that tell us what we want to believe!

Years ago, we had  very limited sources and almost all of them were mostly objective and told both sides of political stories.

Today, there are a million sources (if you include social media) and most are there because they have an opinion. Many  to push an ideology, some are activists.

People automatically gravitate to the ones that tell them things they want to hear. ......which in turn has created echo chambers and countless opportunities for convincing, powerful sources to indoctrinate people into their political ideologies.

Here's the thing.

EVERYBODY recognizes when the other side is doing it.

ALMOST NOBODY recognizes it when their side is doing the same thing to them!

The reason is because of all those cognitive biases above that humans have.

This includes metmike.

To offset this, I try to stay disciplined in using the scientific method. This compels the scientist to first, scrutinize/fact check their own belief/facts before having confidence that those facts are authentic.

This is for real, whether you like the sources or not. In fact, if you use all the pro Biden sources, you won't hear/read any of it.......by design.

Indisputable proof of money laundering of many millions by the Biden's coming up on Wednesday......being covered up so far.

10 X worse than Watergate!

Thanks, Jean!

I believe her biggest shocker point and  yours there is that Obama is controlling Biden.

Obama is the puppet master. I strongly disagree.
