@GrainStats

Pickups are a state of mind  If you don’t get it, you never will

@WallStreetSilv

Popularity of pickup trucks in the US — work vs. personal use. What is the attraction for driving a pickup truck? I have never owned one or wanted to own one.

My theory is, it is the most desired drive train.  V8 / rear wheel drive.
IMO the EPA kind of shot themselves in the foot and killed cars in the process.  They made the mpg so stringent that people hated the cars and moved to trucks and SUV’s.

I'VE OWNED 2, BUT.... NOT FOR MY EVERY DAY DRIVE VEHICLE.  A '64 FORD & A '71 FORD.  I USED 'EM TO HAUL STUFF. I ENJOYED 'EM FOR WHAT I GOT 'EM FOR.

AN SUV?  NO INTEREST IN THEM, AT ALL.

I'VE STILL GOT MY '70 STEP VAN, THO.  GRUMMAN OLSON   I HAD THE ENGINE REBUILT & I DID ALL OF THE RESURFACING OF THE INTERIOR & EXTERIOR. ALL ALUMINUM BODY.
