He may be a step slower intellectually, but that was a strong speech from the heart.  Strongest speech by a US president in support of Israel.  Which, given the unprecedented attack, is what was called for.  He delivered it.

I like the story of Golda Meir whispering to a young Joe Biden "Don't worry senator.  We have nowhere to go."

I agree, joj!
This might be Biden's strongest speech as president.

I should add context to that Golda Meir line:  "Don't worry Senator, we have nowhere to go."

The Arab narrative is that Israel is a colonial invasion like so many before it.  "The crusader Christians came and conquered, and they went home.  The Turks came and conquered, and they went home.  The British came and conquered, and they went home.  The Jews have come and conquered, and they too will be gone someday."

The problem with that narrative is that the Jews have nowhere to go home to.  This IS home.  They largely came from the WWII ashes of Europe to return to their ancestral home.

Soldiers defending their homes are fearsome fighters.

There's no question that Israel appreciated US support, especially from our president.

Biden made some great sounding speeches with some profound, convincing sounding points that I strongly agree with.

However, for me, I judge Biden by his long history of actions, that tell us he is more inclined to take advantage of political opportunities for his own agenda..........for decades and he is most likely just saying things convincingly that people want to hear.

I want to hear it! I like to hear it and support his words but it's Joe the charlatan Biden speaking the words. Let me show you with facts why I feel this way.

This is partly about a territory issue, especially with Gaza on the southern border with Israel.  Joe Biden, is the absolute WORST president in United States history for managing our own southern border.

The same president that caused all of our foreign adversaries to unite against us BECAUSE OF his actions!

The same president that told his puppet, Zelensky to stop negotiating with Russia so that he could use ukraine and Ukrainians to have his war with Russia that has killed 500,000 real human beings SO FAR and counting as Joe BIDEN REFUSES TO DISCUSS PEACE.

The same president that drained our SPR for his political agenda and started selling it on the market, 5 months before Putin invaded,  anticipating the price shocks that HIS INTENTIONAL WAR WITH RUSSIA would cause, months before it happened. Now, almost half of our SPR oil is gone, entirely because of Joe Biden and the United States is more vulnerable because of Biden.

I will choose to believe what Biden says, only because I can independently verify that the words have meaning to me and other people, while completely ignorning the most damaging fork tongued president in history.

And the one who has been the worst in history for US National Security,  global security and energy gets 0 credibility from me when he pretends to be an expert on something where his record proves him to be an incompetant, deadly leader for everybody involved.

And that's independent of his speaking incoherently frequently that every world leader has witnessed.

I mainly wish that we had somebody with a bit of authentic credibility to deliver these messages! Yeah, I know it's politics. Those kind of people are scarce today )-:

What I fear most of all, is that Biden, will have us in 2 more wars. The next one in the Middle East, followed by the war with China to go with his war with Russia.

I'm on Israel's side here, don't get me wrong but if Israel continues to greatly escalate their war to the point that it provokes other Arab countries to join in AFTER Biden pleaded with them to cool it(what they want us to think) than THEY hold most of the responsibility.

Our support should be contingent on Israel not continuing to escalate. Not a cart blanche, "do what you want and we'll suffer the consequences of bad decisions with you"
