Let's review the negatives for you:

CO2 is a greenhouse gas that has increased from ~290 ppm to around ~420 ppm, mostly from the emissions of CO2 that result from burning fossil fuels.

The physics PROVE irrefutably that this is responsible for much of the warming of almost 2 Deg. F, which is greatest in the coldest places, during the coldest times of year(day).

1. This gives the atmosphere the ability to hold around 7% more moisture, so there's been an INCREASE in high end rain events. Not 7 times more. Not 70% more. 7% more moisture in the air.

2. The warmer oceans can also cause some hurricanes to intensify rapidly.

3. Sea levels are increasing at just over an inch..........PER DECADE. This rate has been increasing recently, some from the runoff of aquifers that are being drained.

4. Heat waves can be 2 deg. F hotter in many places. 

Regardless, the authentic science proves that almost all the weather  extremes are still being caused by NATURAL VARIATION.

All the same principles of meteorology still apply......at a beneficial warming of 2 degrees F higher. The highest latitudes warming the most has DECREASED the temperature contrast with latitude and DECREASED several forms of extreme weather (violent tornadoes for instance).

Chicago climate lawsuit against Big Oil moved to federal court -- for now                   BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil and Shell argued city’s case belongs in U.S. District Court. A legal expert predicts it will move back to Cook County Circuit Court.

A City Hall lawsuit blaming five oil industry giants for climate change damage and then covering it up has been moved from state to federal court at the request of the companies.

In late March, the case filed the previous month was assigned to Judge Franklin Valderrama in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

A legal expert, however, believes the case will land back in Cook County Circuit Court where it was initially filed. The reason: Chicago’s lawsuit against five of the world’s largest oil and gas companies follows a pattern of similar complaints filed by other U.S. cities. In each of those cases, the companies argue that the case must be heard in federal rather than state courts but, on appeal, they have all been moved back to the local venues.

“This is dead on arrival in federal court,” said Pat Parenteau, professor of law emeritus at Vermont Law and Graduate School who has tracked the climate lawsuits against Big Oil.

The city is in for a long, hard-fought battle with the deep-pocketed companies, Parenteau added.

It’s unclear whether any of these cases will be successful, especially facing such large, powerful global corporations, but lawyers representing cities have pointed to the success states had suing tobacco companies in the 1990s over claims that the companies lied about the health threats from smoking cigarettes.

BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil and Shell are all named the in lawsuit filed by Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration that accuses the companies of trying to discredit science and mislead the public on the harm that burning fossil fuels has had on the planet.

Big Oil should get put in the Hall of Fame for all the contributions that its made to mankind, even if they were in the interest of making massive profits. 32 lawsuits now target fossil fuel companies over climate damage.

After years of legal appeals and delays, some oil companies are set to stand trial in lawsuits brought by state and local governments over the damages caused by climate change.

Meanwhile, dozens more governments large and small have brought new claims against the fossil fuel industry as those initial cases, filed up to a half-dozen years ago, inch closer to the courtroom.

“It’s all building toward more cases in more places using more legal theories to hold these companies accountable,” said Richard Wiles, president of the Center for Climate Integrity, a nonprofit that offers legal and communication support to communities suing oil companies.

Wiles’ group has tracked 32 cases filed by state attorneys general, cities, counties and tribal nations against companies including Exxon Mobil, BP and Shell. The lawsuits cite extensive news reporting — including investigations by the Los Angeles Times and Inside Climate News — showing oil companies’ own research projected the dangers of climate change decades ago, even as the industry tried to undermine scientific consensus about the crisis.

Those practices, the claims argue, violate a variety of laws including consumer protection, public nuisance, failure to warn, fraud and racketeering. Some of the lawsuits seek to force oil companies to help pay for the damages caused by climate change. Others aim to impose penalties for the use of deceptive business practices. Some want to compel the companies to fund a corrective education campaign about the climate threats they once downplayed.

Given the massive price tag of climate disasters and governments’ adaptation costs, experts say the lawsuits could put the oil industry on the hook for many billions of dollars.
