Huge mistake for the Rs to push Biden to step down.

1. Biden was running for AN ADDITIONAL 4 years in office that would be thru the year, 2028. His announcement was related to his eligibility for this not his ability to be president in 2024.
Good MLB analogy for you: Early in 1968, Mickey Mantle announced that 1968 would be his last season playing baseball because of his long lived bad knees and deteriorating physical condition. In fact, my dad took me to see him play in his last game at Tiger Stadium in Detroit in September, 1968. He hit a home run in his last appearance at the plate in the 8th inning of that game.
During the 1968 season, people were not insisting that he retire NOW/IMMEDIATELY because he stated that he wasn't up to playing MLB in 1969.
If you want to make a SEPARATE CASE that Biden is not qualified NOW, then that's something different than claiming that he's not capable for 4 more years AFTER this term, which is what the Ds are stating.
2. I think that its a waste of resources and in fact, IS counterproductive, for the Rs to insist that he resign now.........and make Harris the president. This MIGHT put Harris in a better position to get more votes. The Rs have a comfortable lead in the polls and the best way to lose it, in a race for who hates the other party the most(the loser of the hate race=president) is by doing something to make the Rs/Trump even MORE HATED. The country is now in a mode of thanking Biden for his service and for the strength to recognize its time to step down to make way for the future. Piling on him by the Rs WILL BE seen as political and evoke empathy for Biden, in his last few months as president and cause the Rs to be hated more.
3. Since the catastrophic debate, the Ds and Biden have been self inflicting damage to themselves/shooting themselves in the foot. The assassination attempt was a sort of Black Swan event for the Ds. Extremely rare, impossible to see and prepare for. That is now history. We've completely reset the table with Trump vs Harris. This last decision by Biden and the Ds has STOPPED THE BLEEDING and is nothing but positive for the Ds and has flipped the momentum in favor of the Ds.......that have some catching up to do.
It's now Trump/Rs vs Harris/Ds. Who is disliked/hated the most. The other one wins.
The Rs going after Biden, who just did something good(75% of the country wanted him to bow out of the race-NOT RESIGN FROM OFFICE) is exactly the thing needed..............TO HELP THE Ds.
Think of it this way. Will going after Biden to resign cause more people to hate Kamala/Ds or more people to hate Trump/Rs? In fact, the Rs doing this are saying that they TRUST KAMALA TO BE PRESIDENT more than Biden right now. '
In fact, if there was something that I thought would help Kamala the most, it would be for Biden to resign right now and claiming that he's doing it because he trusts Harris to be the president. Then the Ds can provide the setting and events that portray her AS DOING THE JOB OF PRESIDENT. This wrecks the Rs best narrative against Kamala that she's not qualified to be president. If she already IS the president, it HELPS HER.

This is another example of a race dominated by each side making decisions to out "stupid" the other side.
Now it's the Rs turn to do dumb things that result in self inflicted damage.
Trump's words in his latest rally, back to his old self of making mean personal, divisive attacks on his enemies is another example..........when the assassination attempt gave him a golden opportunity to shift towards unity and TONING DOWN THE INFLAMMATORY, HATE verbiage.
This is galactically retarded, counterproductive logic by the Rs regarding the response to Biden pulling out of the race.
Now that they are running against Kamala with certainty, the first thing that they do is insist that she be the president immediately because she would be a better president than Biden.
The Rs words that Kamala is not qualified to be the next president (vote for Trump) ring hollow when they are not only insisting that she take over as president right now, they are giving her the experience of being president TO MAKE HER MORE QUALIFIED!
Biden held his position in the US Senate for just over 36 years..........the 19th longest in history........and that was BEFORE doing 8 years as VP, then 4 years as president, so this would be 48 years in total.
If all 48+ years were from serving in the Senate, that would have put in in 3rd place for longevity.

IN THE SENATE: Diane Feinstein was still serving even though she was so far gone that she needed an interpreter with her.........to explain the words of her first language, English during her last year. She passed recently but was an embarrassment to everybody towards the end or her career.

Chuck Grassley on the other hand is the same age as Diane would be and seems pretty competent still.
Bernie Sanders is now the 2nd oldest at 82, with a birthday coming up. Bernie is as sharp as anyone of any age and it might be able to serve another 10 years.
Age can sometimes just be a number for some people as in those 2 guys above.
Mitch McConnell comes after Bernie and has announced this to be his last term........smart decision as age is taking a noticeable toll on his cognitive abilities.
The HOUSE on the other hand has a dozen+ people in their 80's now, including Nancy Pelosi who seems cognitively qualified to me.

Biden at least salvaged his legacy, at least what the biased historians want to write about him……there’s plenty of good stuff.
I’ll have to check to see what the longest lasting careers have been in politics to see where he compares.
Whether you agree with them or not, Biden did have an extremely long list of achievements during his career, many were legit.
He and Hunter(the smartest man he knows) were clever enough to rake in millions from Ukraine and others by extorting money by selling Joe's influence and making threats to generate Biden family money or else lose United States tax payer funded support……..and they got away with it as Hunter, illegally acting as an unregistered foreign lobbyist and using money laundering schemes with fake/shell companies and numerous bank accounts with an end point of Biden family members.
