Fact Check: Did Trump Tell Putin to Halt Prisoner Swaps During US Election?

https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-did-trump-tell-putin-halt-prisoner-swaps-during-us-election-1933788

there were no public statements in which he told the Russian leader to wait until after the election to begin that process.

People everywhere from both political sides are just making up complete nonsense for 10s of millions who want to believe it.

I've posted this study dozens of times the past 2 decades:

In 2024,  a study should be done titled:

There have been several studies, actually that analyze and explain this.

Fake news: Why do we believe it?

Abstract

Fake news dissemination has increased greatly in recent years, with peaks during the US presidential elections and the COVID-19 pandemic.

AVOIDING MISINFORMATION

Many elections officials have highlighted false information as the number one threat to election security. Voters need to consume media responsibly and be aware of their role in information laundering.

https://www.azcleanelections.gov/election-security/avoiding-misinformation

  1. Be skeptical of headlines. False news stories often have catchy headlines in all caps with exclamation points. If shocking claims in the headline sound unbelievable, they probably are.
  2. Look closely at the link. A phony or look-alike link may be a warning sign of false news. Many false news sites mimic authentic news sources by making small changes to the link. You can go to the site to compare the link to established sources.
  3. Investigate the source. Ensure that the story is written by a source that you trust with a reputation for accuracy. If the story comes from an unfamiliar organization, check their "About" section to learn more.
  4. Watch for unusual formatting. Many false news sites have misspellings or awkward layouts. Read carefully if you see these signs. Consider the photos. False news stories often contain manipulated images or videos. Sometimes the photo may be authentic, but taken out of context. You can search for the photo or image to verify where it came from.
  5. Inspect the dates. False news stories may contain timelines that make no sense, or event dates that have been altered. Check the evidence. Check the author's sources to confirm that they are accurate. Lack of evidence or reliance on unnamed experts may indicate a false news story.
  6. Look at other reports. If no other news source is reporting the same story, it may indicate that the story is false. If the story is reported by multiple sources you trust, it's more likely to be true.
  7. Is the story a joke? Sometimes false news stories can be hard to distinguish from humor or satire. Check whether the source is known for parody, and whether the story's details and tone suggest it may be just for fun.
  8. Some stories are intentionally false. Think critically about the stories you read, and only share news that you know to be credible.

++++++++++++++++

But here's the biggest problem applying this. What if ALL the news from almost every source is fake news about many topics,  like the propaganda about the Ukraine war?

Or the fake climate crisis, as we enjoy the best weather/climate and beneficially increasing CO2 for life on this planet since humans have existed.

They hijacked climate science and even rewrote climate history.

How does the average person see thru this???

Answer: They can't. That's what has made it so effective!

NATO............the King of DISinformation, Propaganda and Fake News!

Here in the United States, we are bombarded with 1 sided NATO lies, like one of the biggest ones below:

NATO’s approach to countering disinformation

https://digitalcommons.usf.edu/jss/vol16/iss4/3/

Abstract

Following years of grievances, Russia invaded Ukraine in early 2022 and sparked the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II. Conversations between Soviet and Western leaders in the final days of the Cold War are at the center of the Kremlin’s justification for these actions. Russia claims the West exploited a weakened Russian state by rapidly expanding NATO in former Soviet and Warsaw Bloc nations, despite a promise not to expand. This research seeks to answer how Russia’s NATO-expansion justification for invading Ukraine is inconsistent with the historical record. Findings reveal that the West never provided assurances on NATO expansion and Russia accepted and advocated sovereignty, international borders, states determining their security arrangements, and not using coercion to settle international disputes.

+++++++++++++++

This is FALSE! NATO pretends to be fighting disinformation by substituting pro NATO propaganda for the truth.

NATO has a franchise/complete monopoly/control of the Western media, especially in the United States.

THE TRUTH:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controversy_in_Russia_regarding_the_legitimacy_of_eastward_NATO_expansion

Historical context

Further information: Enlargement of NATO

The proposal not to expand NATO eastward, which was one of the ways Western countries took the initiative on the issue of German reunification and reducing the possibility of the Soviet Union's influence on this process,[12] was based on the provisions of the speech of German Foreign MinisterHans-Dietrich Genscher in Tutzing, announced on January 31, 1990.[13] In it, the minister, among other things, called on NATO to unequivocally state: "no matter what happens in the Warsaw Pact countries, there will be no expansion of NATO territory to the east, that is, closer to the borders of the Soviet Union."[16][17] Genscher's speech was prepared by him without coordination with German ChancellorHelmut Kohl, to whom he was a political competitor on the eve of the upcoming parliamentary elections and from whom he sought to "seize the laurels of the unifier of Germany",[18] at the same time, his proposals aroused interest among the leadership of Western countries, which began to consider the possibility of obtaining the consent of the USSR to the unification of Germany in exchange to limit the expansion of NATO.[12]On February 2, the Minister outlined his plan to US Secretary of State James Baker,[12] and on February 6 — to British Foreign Minister Douglas Hurd.[18] Genscher explained that the proposed restriction would be applicable to both the GDR and Eastern European countries.[12][18][19][20][21] 10 days after his speech in Tutzing, Genscher repeated his words in an interview with Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze: "It is clear to us that membership in NATO creates difficult problems. However, one thing is clear to us: NATO will not expand to the east."[22] Two days later, Genscher repeats the statement at a press conference with Baker in Washington: "As I said, NATO has no intentions of expanding to the east."[22]

NATO added 16 new member states since the dissolution of the Soviet Union

metmike: And they are fighting Russia in order to add Ukraine (using Ukrainians and their NATO puppet traitor who sends their brave soldiers on suicide missions FOR NATO).

The people of Ukraine elected Zelensky in 2019 because he promised to negotiate for peace with Russia and to stop massive government/political corruption in Ukraine.

He betrayed them, after Joe Biden recruited him to be a NATO salesman, to help NATO destroy Russia. ENDING negotiations with Russia and offering up the lives of hundreds of thousands of brave Ukrainian soldiers to fight NATO's war.  Zelensky sold his soul to the NATO devil for fame and fortune. Using his charisma and world class communicating skills as a professional actor all of his life to sell NATOs war with Russia.

Of course it was WRONG for Putin to invade Ukraine.

However, if you believe that Kennedy did the right thing for calling out Russia, using Cuba for its nuclear weapons aimed at the US, then you should also understand why Russia did this...........but the NATO propaganda spins manufactured realities so YOU CAN'T see the similarity.

The biggest difference is that Russia backed down in 1962. Here in 2022-24 NATO refuses to back down because it wants Ukraine and it wants to destroy Russia at almost any cost.

Russia wants NATO to stop expanding and surrounding their country with weapons aimed at Russia.

Time for a history lesson!

Lavrov draws parallels between Ukraine war, Cuban missile crisis

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says there are ‘similarities’ to the Cuban crisis, mainly because Russia is now threatened by Western weapons in Ukraine.

Cuban Missile Crisis

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis

The Cuban Missile Crisis, also known as the October Crisis (Spanish: Crisis de Octubre) in Cuba, or the Caribbean Crisis (Russian: Карибский кризис, romanized: Karibskiy krizis), was a 13-day confrontation between the governments of the United States and the Soviet Union, when American deployments of nuclear missiles in Italy and Turkey were matched by Soviet deployments of nuclear missiles in Cuba. The crisis lasted from 16 to 28 October 1962. The confrontation is widely considered the closest the Cold War came to escalating into full-scale nuclear war.

Parties involved in the crisis
Map showing the maximum range of Soviet missiles deployed in Cuba during the crisis
Date16–28 October 1962
(naval quarantine[1] of Cuba ended on 20 November)
Location Cuba
ResultConflict resolved diplomatically
  • Publicized removal of Soviet nuclear missiles from Cuba
  • Non-publicized removal of American nuclear missiles from Turkey and Italy
  • Agreement with the Soviet Union that the United States would never invade Cuba without direct provocation
  • Creation of a nuclear hotline between the United States and the Soviet Union

+++++++++++++

The reason that this conflict in Ukraine was not resolved diplomatically like the Cuban missile crisis was,  is that Joe Biden/NATO told Zelensky to cut off diplomatic relations with Russia, starting  in late 2021 and they promised him that they would support Ukraine to win a war against Russia! Zelensky, found this much more appealing position, as his huge ego soared because he was now  leader of dozens of countries in NATO, sacrificing his own people that he was elected to serve in Ukraine.  He essentially took on a new role at that point. NATO leader and salesman that used his people for NATO's agenda.

Diplomacy Watch: How close were Russia and Ukraine to a deal in 2022?

New analysis reveals details of talks shortly after invasion

But due to a combination of changing battlefield dynamics that convinced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he could win the war militarily, Western allies’ hesitance to engage diplomatically with Russia and simultaneous ramping up of military support for Ukraine, and the discovery that Russian forces had committed atrocities in Bucha, the talks eventually fell apart.

September 2021 Biden and Zelensky discussing the dynamics of  expected war with Russia. Provoke him by cutting off negotiations with Putin and telling him that Ukraine was joining NATO whether Putin liked it or not. Despite Putin's insistence that he would keep NATO from expanding into Ukraine, even if he had to invade Ukraine to do it.

Where on this recent map below......or any map the past 2.5 years,  does it look like Ukraine is defeating Russia?

Ukraine in maps: Tracking the war with Russia

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-60506682

Look at this map. Who thinks the purple, with less than half their original army left to fight is going to somehow spread and defeat the red???????

The red is spreading NOT the purple. It only gets worse and worse. Ukraine's position to negotiate.......weaker and weaker.

Stop believing the lies! Lies from the beginning that have never stopped. Their almost complete control of the messaging that reaches Americans, has convinced us of a completely manufactured reality that never existed and still doesn't exist.........at a catastrophic cost to REAL HUMANS BEINGS and their families in Ukraine and Russia, US tax payers, US foreign relations/credibility and global peace.

Is the US Dollar on the Verge of Being Dethroned as the World’s Currency?

Gerald Epstein looks at how the loss of the dollar’s reserve currency status could impact the U.S. and world economy.

https://truthout.org/articles/is-the-us-dollar-on-the-verge-of-being-dethroned-as-the-worlds-currency/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwqre1BhAqEiwA7g9Qhi9bz_oZrhpO37smBlkel2Kf2Jg_m2EWfBIIWzzinmpVgXtMvTpHbxoC8t8QAvD_BwE

Since Russia invaded Ukraine, and especially after Washington imposed sweeping sanctions on Moscow, a number of countries across the world — including Brazil, China, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia and South Africa — have been pushing back against the hegemony of the U.S. dollar in the global economy. As this de-dollarization movement picks up steam we are forced to ask: Is the U.S. dollar’s dominance under threat? Would ending the U.S. dollar hegemony benefit the world?

To what extent is the preeminent role of the U.S. dollar in the global economy linked to the size and strength of the U.S. economy?

As the numbers I presented just above suggest, at the time the U.S. overtook the British pound sterling around the time of the First World War, the size and economic strength of the U.S. was very important in determining the international role of the dollar. But by the turn of the 21st century, the relative size and strength of the U.S. economy had greatly fallen (indeed, the Chinese economy now is or soon will be the largest economy in the world), yet the overall role of the U.S. dollar in international money has remained dominant.

Is there a connection between the resiliency of the dollar’s role as global currency and the dynamics of financialization and/or the mechanisms of U.S. imperialist hegemony?

Yes, to both questions. While the U.S. has become much smaller in the world in terms of manufacturing output and even in the production of nonfinancial services, it has remained a huge global power financially. The U.S. dollar is used in 60 percent of the world’s bank loans and deposits; it accounts for almost 70 percent of the global debt issued in foreign currencies (e.g., Brazilian international borrowing in foreign currency); and the U.S. dollar is involved in almost 90 percent of all global foreign exchange transactions, most of which are for various kinds of financial trading and speculation.

In short, the U.S. has become one of the most “financialized” countries on the planet and this financial dominance props up the international role of the dollar. Importantly, causation runs the other way, too: having the dollar as the key international currency also enhances the role, profits and power of U.S. finance in the world.

Likewise, imperialism helps to prop up the key currency role of the U.S. dollar and this key currency role facilitates U.S. global political and military power — that is, the use of international power to extract resources from other countries for the benefit primarily of U.S. capitalists and the 1 percent.

What would happen if the U.S. dollar was dethroned as the world’s primary reserve currency? How would it affect the global economy, as well as the U.S. economy, and the laboring classes?

As I have suggested, it might reduce U.S. military adventurism. It might also reduce, however, the ability of the U.S. to run large budget deficits and current account deficits. The former would mean that the working class would need to build and utilize more political strength to demand government priorities serve the needs of people, rather than of the top 1 percent, banks, military contractors and fossil fuel companies. Current account deficits might also increase local production in the U.S. which, under the right circumstances, could be a boon to domestic employment.

As for the rest of the world, it might tilt some of the global financial and political power elsewhere. Whether the world’s workers or world’s capitalists outside of the U.S. capture that power is a big question, which I cannot answer here.

How Would a New BRICS Currency Affect the US Dollar? (Updated 2024)

BRICS is a grouping of the world economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa formed by the 2010 addition of South Africa to the predecessor BRIC. The original acronym “BRIC”, or “the BRICs”, was coined in 2001 by Goldman Sachs economist Jim O’Neill to describe fast-growing economies that would collectively dominate the global economy by 2050. The BRICS have a combined estimated total population of about 3.2 billion, or around 42% of the global population.

News coming out of the Middle East is another realm that features spinning and false narratives by entities with self serving agenda and the power to be read/heard by many millions of people that go to places to hear/read news THAT LINES UP WITH THEIR PERSONAL BIAS.

This just reinforces the already existing bias..........ON BOTH SIDES.

There is no question that the increasing political division from this has created the current COLD CIVIL WAR in the United States, with 3 months to go before the 2024 presidential election.

We've become so accustomed to this and tolerant of it and wrapped up in it ourselves, personally lining up with one side or the other THAT WE CAN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.

It's a COLD war right now between the right and left with so much at stake in this upcoming election.

A COLD war does not features bombs or killings (although the assassination attempt was part of it).

It features.............exactly what is happening between the right and left right now. If you haven't watched Fox in the evening for awhile, tune in this week. It's an all out, 100% war on the left and people that disagree with them are viciously attacked...........for hours and hours.

If you watch on a regular basis...........it means you LIKE THIS BECAUSE IT LINES UP WITH YOUR PERSONAL BIAS.

Fox hits a few grand slams every once in awhile but in between, they often feed us one sided, conspiracy theory, fake news, false narrative rhetoric rubbish......to try to win the war!

Their news about Gaza belongs in the broadcasting Hall of Fame for delusional,  twisted interpretations of actual events and rationale.

One of the saddest parts about this is that if you don't watch Fox News when they are hitting a grand slam with profound news..........you will completely miss it. The rest of the MSM, on the other side of the battle will be covering it up.
