As seen in the following ranking of the years from warmest to coolest, 2024 was by far the warmest in the 46-year satellite record averaging 0.77 deg. C above the 30-year mean, while the 2nd warmest year (2023) was +0.43 deg. C above the 30-year mean. [Note: These yearly average anomalies weight the individual monthly anomalies by the number of days in each month.]

A 485-million-year history of Earth’s surface temperature

https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adk3705

+++++++++

1 side wants to spin this into a continuation of their fake climate crisis, anti science narrative "look what will happen if we keep increasing CO2"

When the reality is that because of the physics of the absorption bands for CO2  being almost maxed out  and the absolute science that tells us the impact of increasing CO2 is LOGARITHMIC (it take a bigger and bigger increase of CO2 to get the same increase in temp) that mentality is hogwash.

What I see is an earth sitting near the BOTTOM of the temperature range, with most creatures still preferring temperatures to still be a bit warmer.

And the optimal level of CO2 for most life is double the current level!!!

+++++++++++++++

For some fun, let's see how the worlds biggest climate charlatan, John Cook,  lies to try to make it appear this law is not really a law that will indisputably cause more and more CO2 to cause less and less warming.

He claims that we have not experienced the warming yet from CO2 increasing from decades ago and its all hiding in the oceans and that CO2 stays in the atmosphere for incredibly long time frames WRONG!

Its the opposite of this. The planet has GREENED UP by close to 30% in the last century. All those plants are gobbling up more and more CO2 at a rate basically at 30% higher than 100 years ago.

The CO2 continues to climb because of increased emissions that exceed this extra demand but make no mistake, the supply/demand curve is FLATTENING OUT.

With time, the plant demand for CO2 will be equal to the emissions, even with the current rate of increasing emissions. Then CO2 will stop going higher. If we cut CO2 emissions at all, there will be a big DEFICIT because the global biosphere will NEED EVEN MORE of it to sustain itself at the massively greener level.

This will cause global CO2 to DROP, possibly fast if we ever cut CO2 emissions. It's complete hogwash to, instead insist that today's CO2 emissions will stay in the air for the next 100 years.

Imagine if we went to the absurd, 0 carbon emission future.

With 100% certainty, plants and crops would gobble up whats there at their high CO2 requirement level because of the planet greening up and we would quickly plunge to CO2 levels of 100 years ago, possibly lower when the planet was experiencing CO2 starvation(before we rescued it by returning the CO2 to the atmosphere that was once there but became sequestered in fossil fuels buried in the ground).

With 100% certainty this would cause widespread crop failures from taking away this wonderful atmospheric fertilizer, widespread droughts(plants are more water efficient with higher CO2 levels) and a degreening of the planet.

    This guy likes to razzle and dazzle his readers with junk science!

He knows more than his readers so he pretends to be smart and knowledgeable, while using a forked tongue to steal their intelligence for his fake climate crisis agenda:

How could global warming accelerate if CO2 is 'logarithmic'?
