A good friend at Scholastic Chess of Indiana asked if I heard of this guy.

The name sounded vaguely familiar. However, in reading about his profoundly fascinating life and key contributions to the field of meteorology just now, I feel compelled to find out more and to share the life of this brilliant man that shaped the field of meteorology in the age of its greatest scientific  advancements......some of which were still in their infancy when I was getting my degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at the University of Michigan over 4 decades ago.

Larry will especially connect to some of this stuff but in reading the article below, I was so spellbound as to completely forget about the top priority things I'm supposed to be doing.   More to come.
