Nature

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nature

Nature is an inherent character or constitution,[1] particularly of the ecosphere or the universe as a whole. In this general sense nature refers to the laws, elements and phenomena of the physical world, including life. Although humans are part of nature, human activity or humans as a whole are often described as at times at odds, or outright separate and even superior to nature.[2]

During the advent of modern scientific method in the last several centuries, nature became the passive reality, organized and moved by divine laws.[3][4] With the Industrial Revolution, nature increasingly became seen as the part of reality deprived from intentional intervention: it was hence considered as sacred by some traditions (Rousseau, American transcendentalism) or a mere decorum for divine providence or human history (Hegel, Marx). However, a vitalist vision of nature, closer to the pre-Socratic one, got reborn at the same time, especially after Charles Darwin.[2]

Billions of years on the left.

Note above, that we owe everything to Photosynthesis:

The optimal level of the beneficial gas, CO2 for photosynthesis is around 900 parts per million for most plants and life. We are still less than half that optimal level:

Optimal CO2 for life more than double current level: See the proof with thousands of studies. Showing Scientific American.....and mainstream science sold to us........ to be wrong about plants and the affects from Climate Change. December 2020

Anybody that uses the term "carbon pollution" for carbon dioxide is either not a scientist or is a blatantly biased scientist playing politics.

Using that term, carbon pollution is scientifically, exactly like using the term hydrogen pollution to describe water vapor/H2O in the air.

We know that a water molecule is formed from 2 atoms of hydrogen and 1 atom of oxygen. Water/H2O is neither hydrogen or oxygen. It's a totally different compound/molecule, using atoms held together by covalent bonds. It's essential for all life on this planet.

Water

The water molecule has this basic geometric structure
Ball-and-stick model of a water molecule
Space filling model of a water molecule
  Oxygen, O
  Hydrogen, H

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Exactly the same with CO2/carbon dioxide.  It's formed from 2 atoms of oxygen and 1 atom of carbon. It is NOT oxygen and it certainly is not the solid, carbon. It's a totally different compound/molecule, with 1 C atom, covalently bonded with 2 O atoms. It's an essential GAS! At 426 parts per million, CO2 is less than 50% of the optimal level for most life(assuming that most animals eat plants or something that ate plants).

Carbon dioxide
Structural formula of carbon dioxide with bond length
Ball-and-stick model of carbon dioxide
Space-filling model of carbon dioxide

Carbon is a SOLID! Many thousands of compounds have carbon atoms in them but they are NOT CARBON.

  • diamond: clear

We know exactly why people use the ANTI science term,  carbon pollution for CO2

When you hear a source using that term or read it, you can be certain that they are either scientifically ignorant on this topic or intentionally using it to try to trick people into believing  that the beneficial gas, CO2 is actually a pollutant and is bad, like black carbon or solid carbon particulate matter in the air.

20 Of The World's Most Beautiful Butterflies, Ranked

https://www.ranker.com/list/most-beautiful-butterflies/joedonley

I planted a bunch of butterfly bushes in our backyard 20 years ago that our grandchildren have especially enjoyed. I know a few things about these wonderful creatures  and a few thousands things about climate change.

Looking at the article/pictures above has me inspired to add more bushes this Spring for our 2 year old son, Cyrus!!

America’s butterflies are disappearing at a ‘catastrophic’ rate           Story by the Associated Press

https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/07/climate/americas-butterflies-disappearing-catastrophic-rate/index.html

Edwards  said when they looked at butterfly species that lived both in the hotter  South and cooler North, the ones that did better were in the cooler  areas.

Climate change,  habitat loss and insecticides tend to work together to weaken butterfly  populations, Edwards and Haddad said. Of the three, it seems that  insecticides are the biggest cause, based on previous research from the  U.S. Midwest, Haddad said.

Time to put on our thinking caps and use critical thinking to BUST dishonest science and the activist, political agenda driven, ratings seeking media.

1. For certain pesticides and insecticides are taking a toll on butterflies........that's exactly what they are designed to do. Kill insects. They can't differentiate between bad insects and good insects. Also, some caterpillars eat crops and are considered pests.

With regards to weather/climate. Let's obliterate the junk science above about warm and cold for butterflies and  their food.

How cold is too cold for butterflies?

https://tipsfolder.com/cold-too-cold-butterflies-7aa4bbc8d3ee7b6b868ec0e760aba0da/

Is it possible that butterflies will be too hot?

While we (humans) may think it’s too hot, butterflies adore it and actually require it. Butterflyes, on the other hand, can’t fly if their body temperature is below 86 degrees Fahrenheit!

Where do butterflies come from?

Answer: caterpillars.

What do caterpillars eat?

Answer: Plant matter! There is 25% MORE plant matter on earth because of Climate Change and the increase in CO2.

What Do Caterpillars Eat?

What has the increase in CO2(and climate change) done to plant matter on earth the past century?

Answer: Massively increased it because of photosynthesis and  slightly warmer temperatures, especially in the coldest places.

The other profound point to make is that caterpillars are in fact MAJOR pests that  damage and destroy garden plants and crops.
In many places, the objective IS TO KILL CATERPILLARS.

Killing caterpillars will always reduce the population of its adult form…..the butterfly.

Junk science studies like the one on the previous page that blame climate change (the best thing that ever happened to butterflies) are sadly, stealing our intelligence.

A serious discussion on this topic should put almost the entire focus on the dilemma.

We love our beautiful butterflies but they fly around laying eggs on our food so that their babies, after hatching from those eggs will be in the best  places to feast on our food.

caterpillars and butterflies/moths are a gardner and farmers enemy.
This is a topic that deserves MUCH more discussion for you to understand what caterpillars destroy what plants that humans eat.

If caterpillars did not turn into beautiful butterflies……almost everybody would agree that we should KILL THEM ALL when they are destroying our food.

that’s actually the most important part of their life cycle. DEVOURING PLANT MATERIAL to nourish their bodies.

however, there are many caterpillars that don’t eat our food, like the babies of monarch butterflies that only feed on milkweed plants.

Much more to come.

Another point too is that by definition, the existence of human beings means consumption of natural resources. Some are renewable some not.

Plants that we grow to eat are  renewable  but also tasty to other critters, especially some insects, including caterpillars.

So we compete with caterpillars for our food. Out competing them and winning the battle  with certain kinds of caterpillars means reducing the number of butterflies OF THAT SPECIES. INTENSIONALLY!

If these were ticks or  mosquitoes or aphids, we would celebrate Obliterating those ugly pests.
But these pests, perform a miraculous metamorphose and turn into one of natures most beautiful creatures  that can even fly!

Managing Caterpillar Pests in and around Greenhouses

https://ipm.cahnr.uconn.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/3216/2022/12/2019caterpillarsfactsheetrevised3-1.pdf
Feeding Damage
The damaging larval stages (caterpillars) use their chewing mouthparts to feed
on plant leaves and flowers. Some caterpillars roll plant leaves together in a
silken web (leafrollers), others tunnel into stems and buds (borers), and some
are active at night cutting off plants at their base (cutworms). Caterpillars are
voracious feeders and can severely damage plants and leave fecal deposits or
insect frass on the damaged plant leaves.

I have not suggested a solution to this problem of killing caterpillars because we use powerful products that protect our food from them.  There are in fact ways to reduce the use(OVER USE) of pesticides/insecticides but thats not what my posts are about.

However, just a reminder/information for new readers:

MY point is that climate change and the increase in CO2, greening up the planet have been the best thing in human history to happen to caterpillars and butterflies.

Studies that BLAME this for their demise are JUNK science.

Just another example of NEVER telling us about any benefits during this current climate OPTIMUM for life.  As if the increase in CO2 and slight warming is somehow killing all the good life(that in reality,  loves those conditions) but causing all the bad life to explode higher(because it loves these same conditions too).........MOST life prefers this, by a wide margin in many cases.

Like we are to believe that harsh, cold weather and CO2 starvation(100+ years ago when CO2 was greatly deficient for almost all life at less than 300 ppm) is what all the good life prefers.

With regards to the climate......the 1800's BEFORE we warmed up and when CO2 was DANGEROUSLY LOW tell us exactly why THIS climate is much better and crystal clearly a scientific climate OPTIMUM for life by every standard.

This is the INDISPUTABLE authentic climate science and meteorology.

When was the last time the fork tongue message gatekeepers told you this:

Answer: Never

Humans Really Are Made of Stardust, and a New Study Proves It

While I completely agree with this source above on their authentic science regarding the beneficial gas, CO2, I need to correct their slight downplaying about the warming over the last century.

Instead of it being less than 1 deg C, it’s a bit MORE than 1 deg. C.

Still, that warming has been mostly beneficial for life on this planet. They are  mostly correct about the  future warming impact ofCO2.

The absorption wavelength bands for CO2 are getting increasingly saturated so that those bands can’ No longer absorb additional radiation (and reradiate out in all directions, including  downward-back to earth).

So each additional amount of CO2, contributes to less and less warming. This is based on the indisputably proven physics of greenhouse gas warming for ALL gases.
