Ivory Coast, producer of 45% of the world's #cocoa, is expecting a 40% drop in mid-crop production for 2024/25 due to drought. This follows 2023/24 shortfalls in Ivory Coast and Ghana output, which sent global prices screaming to new highs last year.

Hey Mike,

Was this drought tradable for a weather trader? I feel like I asked something similar last year for cocoa drought?

Great question but no, Larry it wasn't because the main reason for the big short fall was a disease/virus.
