RFK Jr. Says US Will Know Cause of Autism 'Epidemic 'by September

RFK has near 0 credibility, ESPECIALLY this topic. His anti science, anti vax positions in the past have done much more damage than good. The only reason he got this position was that Trump owed him a favor and this is what they agreed the favor would be before he endorsed Trump.

Exactly the most wrong person for this job. RFK is a nut case!

RFK Jr. says people shouldn't take his medical advice when asked about vaccines at hearing

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rfk-jr-medical-advice-vaccine-question-hearing/

+++++++++++++++++=

He's the worst person I know of  for this job but that answer should result in him immediately being replaced.

This is the Secretary of Health and Human Services. He just completely abdicated his  extremely important role in the field of vaccines for our health.

What does the health and human services secretary do?

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/what-does-the-health-and-human-services-secretary-do

How HHS, FDA, and CDC Can Influence U.S. Vaccine Policy

https://www.kff.org/policy-watch/how-hhs-fda-and-cdc-can-influence-u-s-vaccine-policy/

What Federal Agencies Approve and Recommend Vaccines?

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the core federal department responsible for improving the health and well-being of Americans. It is headed by a Secretary (a cabinet-level, Senate-confirmed position), and has 13 operating divisions including key federal agencies related to vaccines and vaccination policy in the U.S.:

++++++++++=

So there's only 1 way that I can think of at the moment to interpret this answer:

Since he has been advocating far all sorts of things, including wacko, unconventional treatments, we know that when he believes in something he DOES strongly advocate for it. His refusing to advocate for the measles vaccine, in fact refusing to answer the question  means  that he must still  be against the measles vaccine but won't say it. This makes the most sense because of his long history of being ANTI vax and we already knew this about him.

It tells us that he was lying before getting appointed to this position, insisting that he's not anti Vax anymore.

This is insane. To have the most powerful person for US health care and vaccines being anti vax.

People WILL die because of this nut case being in this position.

This would be like having the commissioner of baseball not understanding what the rules are for teams in the playoffs. Or how players get selected to play in the All Star game.

We knew this already about him and why he's not qualified but an anti vax person should NEVER be the Secretary of Health.

We know he has this job only because Trump is rewarding him for dropping out of the race and throwing his support to Trump before the November 2024 election. This is a horrible way to select a person to fill a key position.

Bad enough that Trump nominated the worst person possible to do this job to pay back a favor but Rs in Congress, despite knowing who he is still confirmed him.

ANYBODY would have been better than him.

Watched JFKs interview on CNN tonight.

Kennedy pushes autism study deadline, calls on farmers to support MAHA agenda

https://www.cnn.com/2025/05/22/politics/rfk-interview-kaitlan-collins-maha-report

++++++++++++++++++

I have 2 new thoughts on this.

1. Promising that he would have the answer in such a short period of time suggests that he's already decided what the answer is and now he's going to "find" it by handpicking the studies he wants to use that support what he want to show. Seriously, how can authentic science with hundreds of brilliant scientists that have studied this for decades and still are unsure, suddenly discover the answer in a few months because a new NON scientist sheriff is in town that believes vaccines cause autism?

2. He insisted that he will find it so quickly by replication of the previous studies. She asked him what good that would do.  Kennedy replied that he would look at all the studies and decide which ones are the best, then replicate them.

BINGO!!!

He is going to hand pick the studies that he likes because they show what he wants to show, likely that vaccinations cause autism and focus on using them as his starting point. Betcha he does NOT use many studies that disprove his theory. I'm speculating on this based on who this guy has been and is currently. Maybe he'll surprise us and actually practice the scientific method for the first time in his life.

Doing that would require him to pick at least as many studies that show the opposite of what he believes to try to validate them. It's only when you are sincerely unable to validate the position that is the opposite of yours that you  can have genuine confidence that your theory/position is right.

If you want to be right, prove yourself wrong

https://ozanvarol.com/want-right-prove-wrong/

When our minds remain closed, when we keep opposing arguments at bay through unfalsifiable arguments, and when we associate flip-flopping with being weak or two-faced, misinformation and pseudoscience thrive. Our tribal echo chambers get louder and louder with the sounds of the same misleading voices.

The solution is simple: Attempt to prove yourself wrong on a daily basis. When our focus shifts from proving ourselves right to proving ourselves wrong, we seek different inputs, we combat deeply-entrenched biases, and we open ourselves up to competing facts and arguments.

Fortunately, a  meteorologist is in the best scientific profession of all to learn this lesson early, then practice it constantly if they want to survive and even better......thrive.

Think about it. What other profession features you coming in every day(even the same day) and looking at weather models that show you that your last forecast was wrong because you are looking at better, fresher data and the objective is to hurry up and update the NEW forecast ASAP and  bury the old one forever.

Then, the next day and every future day,  trying to find reasons for why that last forecast is wrong and celebrate being able to make the forecast EVEN BETTER!

Yes, it's nice to be able to call an event accurately over a week in advance. But the models are flawed because the equations that represent the physical laws of the atmosphere are not perfect and we can't measure every square inch of the atmosphere (there are big data gaps in places where data matters).

Very small errors will grow over time. It's EXPECTED to be wrong with the extended forecast. ...........a lot.

No serious meteorologist would forecast next Thursday's weather for Evansville, IN for instance, then spend the next 6 days only going to places or models that show that forecast is right(even if it means using OLD data) and ignoring everything else so they never have to change it.

That's what most people do with most things in their lives, don't they?

At least in this profession, we are trained to practice the scientific method 365 days a year.

So a meteorologist is  constantly HELD ACCOUNTABLE by virtue of having to reconcile the actual weather when it happens with the forecast before hand.

How will JFK be held accountable in the same way if he comes out and tells us that vaccines cause autism?

Answer: He CAN'T be.

 In the real world,  testing of his SPECULATIVE THEORY will take many years. Be it wrong or be it right. In his case, the evidence will be what studies that he decides to use. Since there will likely be other studies that contradict or that show something different as well as many other scientists that disagree........it's his speculative opinion. It would likely take many, many years to prove this but somehow, he claims he will have the answer later this year. It's ludicrous to make this claim that he will discover the reason for autism so quickly, ESPECIALLY since he says it will come from using old studies that HE PICKS  and then HE replicates.

It's possible that he could learn new things or legitimately prove his theory with BETTER studies that confirm his theory.

But he can't already know that will happen and predict the time frame for it before it happens if he's being open minded and practicing the authentic scientific method. Having already predicted that, tells us to be extra skeptical of whatever it is that he does find.

Remember when RFK Jr. stated this, earlier in the month(because he didn't want to recommend the measles vaccine)?

RFK Jr. says people shouldn't take his medical advice when asked about vaccines at hearing

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rfk-jr-medical-advice-vaccine-question-hearing/

++++++++++++

This ANTI vaccine ANTI science activist for the past 2 decades shows his hypocrisy on this vaccine:

RFK Jr. says Covid-19 shot will no longer be recommended for healthy children and pregnant women

https://www.cnn.com/2025/05/27/health/covid-vaccine-pregnant-women-children-recommendation

            Kennedy offered no scientific evidence to justify the change to the recommendations.

            But experts say the shift will have devastating consequences, particularly for pregnant women and their babies. Both are considered to be at higher risk of severe complications of Covid-19 infections. Studies have found that Covid-19 vaccination reduces the risk of hospitalization for pregnant women and infants younger than 6 months.

++++++++++++

The evidence is in the imagination of RFK Junior's pathologically driven mindset. The exact worst person in the country to have a say on anything to do with vaccines.

MAHA???

How about MADA!

Make America Dumb Again on vaccinations. Or Make America Dangerous Again.

This is concerning from the standpoint, not just that Kennedy might have been dishonest or misrepresenting the science, which we already know that he does but all the REAL boneheaded mistakes, including basic math, dates and other information that a high school kid should have got correct.

metmike is a yahoo atmospheric scientist in Evansville, IN that types science for free on MarketForum.

He makes plenty of typing mistakes because he's old and doing this for free and for fun. However, I can't imagine making all the mistakes that were in this supposed expert science report coming out from the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

This is an extremely important job that impacts countless millions in our country.

It demonstrates extremely shoddy work and a lack of taking advantage of numerous, other competent people at his disposal to confirm/verify facts and links.

This is consistent with his outlier, tunnel vision, anti science type thinking and preconceived notions based, not always on good science but instead, him hand picking the stuff that he wants to use because it supports what he  decided decades ago,  when he formed his deranged anti vaccine opinions.

 JFK DOES have some great ideas about becoming healthier. But his anti vaccine position disqualifies him for being in this position.

People WILL die from NOT getting vaccinated because of his bad recommendations.

What the latest COVID vaccine changes mean for pregnant people and children

https://19thnews.org/2025/05/covid-vaccine-recommendations-pregnant-people-children/

“Despite the change in recommendations from HHS, the science has not changed. It is very clear that COVID infection during pregnancy can be catastrophic and lead to major disability, and it can cause devastating consequences for families,” Dr. Steven J. Fleischman, president of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said in a statement. “The COVID vaccine is safe during pregnancy, and vaccination can protect our patients and their infants.”

 Kennedy did not cite any data along with his decision, though he has long questioned the need for frequent COVID-19 boosters for children.

Removing COVID vaccines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendations for pregnant people or children could impact the availability of the vaccines or if they are covered by insurance. Dr. Sean T. O’Leary, chair of the Committee on Infectious Diseases for the American Academy of Pediatrics, said that removing the recommendation “could strip families of choice.”

Some of us KNEW this sort of stuff was coming from him the day Trump appointed him!!!

The CDC contradicts RFK's ANTI Vax, ANTI science. Of course they did!

CDC still recommends childhood COVID vaccines, despite RFK announcement

The Covid-19 vaccine remains on the CDC's revised schedule of childhood vaccinations.

RFK Jr. in this position is so incredibly wrong. You just don't put an anti science, anti vaccination person in charge of making recommendations for vaccinations to the vulnerable people in our country.

People, especially those from MAGA will actually follow this bad advice. It's not a matter of whether people will die but how many will die because of following his bad vaccinations advice.

The same guy that told us earlier this month to not follow his measles vaccination recommendations(clearly to avoid recommending the measles vaccine because he doesn't believe in it and clearly to avoid telling us NOT to get vaccinated for measles because he knows the outrage that would cause from authentic science).

He is so NOT qualified on this. In fact, it's worse than that. A person can lack qualifications and just be incompetent in implementing important policies but JFK Jr. is actually FIGHTING AGAINST important vaccination policies. He's an ADVERSARY in a very powerful position that impacts tens of millions of people that is actually fighting against  us!!!!!!

If this was a deadly disease fighting  basketball game, and Trump was the coach, he just gave the deadly virus team an extra player, his best player so they have 6 and we still have just 5.

JFK Jr is playing for the deadly virus team when it comes to his anti vax ignorance.
